What is this article meant to be about? The title and lead both suggest it's about the legacy of ancient Greece and its impact on later societies and cultures, but large swathes of the article don't actually address that at all. For instance, the two paragraphs on §Athens at best vaguely gesture at its legacy with It is widely referred to as the cradle of Western Civilization, and the birthplace of democracy; reading through the entire article it seems more like an alternative Ancient Greece than an article on a separate topic. ok, but ummm. It [Athens]] is widely referred to as the cradle of Western Civilization, and the birthplace of democracy. that is a fully verifiable sentence. it was written by other editors and is highly stable. the very general nature of that sentence is what highlights the broad sweeping influence today of its subject, Athens. Sure, but my question isn't about verifiability. It's whether this article is about the modern influence of ancient Greece, or if it's just a content fork of other existing articles. Caeciliusinhorto (talk) 16:43, 23 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
