Related to succession
editI've recently taken quite an interest in Safavid period and the reign of Abbas the Great, but the very limited sources I found on the internet are quite contradictory.
This is as much a request for article expansion as it is questioning the facts stated in this article.
I've read in several sources that Abbas revolted against his father and upon victory and seizing the throne had his father and brothers all blinded and imprisoned.
Also, did Mohammed Khodabanda reign until 1578 or 1588? Abbas the Great was 7 years old in 1578. Became ruler of Khorasan in 1581 and Shah of Persia in 1588.

- The recent biography of Shah Abbas by David Blow (the only full-length modern biography in English) uses the form "Muhammad Khodabanda." Per my comments elsewhere, I see no pressing reason to move this article. There is no generally accepted single system of transliterating Persian and there are many variants on the king's name. This issue is better dealt with redirects than page moves. --Folantin (talk) 13:16, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
