New field of molecular engineering

edit

As discussed in the archived talk pages this article does have a lot of overlap with Molecular nanotechnology. Moreover the term 'molecular engineering' is now being used to describe an emerging field of design and engineering at small length scales using knowledge and abilities gained from all branches of molecular level science, rather than Mechanosynthesis specifically.[1][2] (It may also have meaning in terms of chemical synthesis as discussed in archive.) Could the current content be merged into Molecular nanotechnology so the article can be written to reflect the other usage(s)? Jmidje (talk) 11:55, 26 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'd be happy to write an edit to Molecular Nanotechnology. The most likely needed change would be to add some results oriented section to the other page as the key points of this page as it stands are results (EG STM) and the new AFM work out of IBM should likely also be highlighted. This would form a new section 5 there and the diamond stuff at the end of 4 would be pulled into it. Lasserith (talk) 23:47, 26 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
