Molly was a commonly used nickname for Mary, so much so I think the common nickname rule applies here and we should not put Molly in quotes in the lead but just call her Mary Ann Pearson, like we just call William Gates that and not William "Bill" Gates in the opening of the article on him.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:48, 23 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Stop your forum shopping and misrepresenting the MOS. You made this argument on a different talk page and nobody agreed with you. Here, as elsewhere, it's a professional alias, as evidenced by the IBDB listings, and the MOS calls for its use. You don't like that part of the MOS?
