I reverted an arbitrary change from American English to British English by IP editor 110.169.129.18 per MOS:RETAIN, but the IP reverted it back to British English with the edit summary "This is a Syrian article and not an US article. Therefore it in inappropriate to force US spelling". That rationale is contrary to the WP:MOS. The text in question was originally added here in 2009, more than five years ago, using American English and thus should be retained. If there is a policy based reason for making the change to British English, please discuss it here. Mojoworker (talk) 17:09, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Syria is not America and so imposing US spelling is inappropriate, unwelcome and rather distasteful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.169.129.18 (talk • contribs)
