editThe chromosome 14 has lots of important genetic information that such fetuses lack with a single copy of the genes. Monosomy 14 usually results in a shortened life expectancy due to birth defects from lack of genetic material for brain development, heart formation, head growth, and growth regulation found on the chromosome. Also, any autosomal monosomy, including Monosomy 14 and Monosomy 21 are lethal 2607:FEA8:B54:CBE0:5CA6:3BE8:26C3:157E (talk) 16:23, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
