Rewrite in progress...

edit

Just so that other editors are aware, I am currently rewriting this article to have better organization, verifiability, and readability. I also intend to create several new SVG graphics to clearly illustrate the concept for laymen. The primary reference for my rewrite will be the textbook Probabilsitic Robotics by Thrun, Burgard, and Fox (who are already cited in the current version of this article). I will also do a brief literature review and add useful things from various papers. You can view my progress at: User:Dllu/sandbox/Monte Carlo localization (but please do not make changes directly to my sandbox). Depending on how busy I am over the next few days, the rewrite may be completed this weekend, or it may take until the summer. Please let me know if you have any objections or suggestions to make, thanks! dllu (t,c) 10:08, 23 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
