Drawing
editThe drawing is of Montelukast Sodium, while the article discusses Montelukast. I'll fix the drawing soon. Catbar (Brian Rock) 00:27, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- The drawing is now replaced with the corrected version. Catbar (Brian Rock) 03:13, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- How about a stick/skeleton model (a la ChemDraw)?
- Which I have added. Much more informative to view molecules that way when 3D structure not relevant. -BigUpYourself —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.175.47.40 (talk) 18:28, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Advice
editI removed the part of a sentence that read, "so patients should also be supplied with rescue medication, such as an albuterol inhaler." for two reasons (1) it is not about montelukast, it is about the care that should be taken with asthma patients; and (2) it sounds like medical advice, especially since it uses the word should. It also sounds as if it came right out of the package insert, which it did. --Bejnar 15:30, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- It is, however, vitally important information to certain persons interested in Singular. How about replacing it with a preface, e.g.,
- Thus the package insert states that asthma patients should also be supplied with rescue medication, such as an albuterol inhaler.

Advice
editPlease change title from Montelukast to Montelukast Sodium. Singulair generic is Montelukast Sodium - see link to FDA label clearly stating this: [1] I have already noted this before and went to fight with some members over this who did not believe me. I also went to Merk who made sure that now Singulair is updated everywhere it is possible. There are a lot of journal submissions and publications with the incorrect Montelukast in replacement of Montelukast Sodium. Sodium is an active ingredient and not a filler or sub ingredient. I personally nearly died from this little "error" on Wikipedia. http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2012/020829S63-20830S64-21409S40lbl.pdf

Could Montelukast be inhaled, instead of an oral application?
editWould that work? Abe 92.192.29.230 (talk) 08:08, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Aggression. How big risk?
editHow many % of patients gets serious side effects, like bad aggressions? Less than 10%? Almost everyone? I did not find it from the source of this: "On June 12, 2009, the FDA concluded their review into the possibility of neuropsychiatric side effects with leukotriene modulator drugs. Although clinical trials only revealed an increased risk of insomnia, post-marketing surveillance showed that the drugs are associated with a possible increase in suicidal behavior and other side effects such as agitation, aggression, anxiousness, dream abnormalities and hallucinations, depression, irritability, restlessness, and tremo"
Too much info?
editIt might be a minor thing, but I feel like the additional information on Zafirlukast and Zileuton should be removed and, in its place, provide "See Also" links towards the bottom for these two drugs. The drugs are definitely related to this one, but they already have their own pages, so it seems redundant to mention them here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.196.3.198 (talk) 18:56, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
