Proposed deletion Sept 2016

I am following a list presented in List_of_zoos_by_country#Costa_Rica. The list is not up to date so, beside creating the articles of the zoos and parks, I'm updating the list. Not all parks and/or zoos in the list have an article. I try to find merit in the zoo or the park before I create an article in Wikipedia for it. This park is referenced as the only park in the country with a zip-line available at night. A unique feature, whether that is considered tourist-related or not. I use as a guide Birmingham Zoo, not a beacon of an article itself where half its references come from blogs or the zoo's website. I try to add references beyond that. OK, "the only zip line in Costa Rica open at night" is sort of significant, i guess, and you have a reference, and I'm sympathetic to what you're doing, so I removed the PROD. But not every little snake farm, frog pond, rescue center and roadside attraction should qualify as a "zoo" for that list. Our definition of zoo is "a facility in which animals are confined within enclosures, displayed to the public, and in which they may also be bred," but I think we'd agree that just because my daughter puts her bunnies in their cages out on the side-walk in front of her house for her neighbors to admire, that doesn't mean she's running a zoo. You say you're being selective about which articles you create, and I believe you, but I think you need to be very clear about explaining and documenting (with references) the merit you see in some of the smaller venues.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure the Birmingham Zoo article really demonstrates the notability of the zoo, but at least it's a major facility in a major city. ubiquity (talk) 17:31, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

This facility is for sure not a box on the corner, which was a concern because it is starting to have more of a Hotel-run theme park feel. Which is not the case with Serpentario Viborana, a fairly small and rather unnoticed chicken-coop for snakes except for the fact that is where government officials refer their confiscated and injured animals for treatment and release. It's also more than a vet shop since there is a relevant display of snakes with an emphasis on venomous snakes. For sure a juggle to reflect on when deciding to keep or not to keep.
