New article for namesake - deletion of redirect
editA new article was created for Lt. Col. Montgomery Cunningham Meigs (1919-1944), World War II commander of the 23rd Tank Battalion of the 12th Armored Division. Original redirect for "Montgomery Cunningham Meigs" was to Montgomery C. Meigs (1916-1892), Union Army Civil War Quartermaster and architect of Arlington National Cemetery. All piped links to the Civil War General were changed from Montgomery Cunningham Meigs to Montgomery C. Meigs to distinguish between the two, specifically on the pages USS General M. C. Meigs (AP-116), Archibald Forbes, Montgomery Meigs Taylor. Other WP pages for biographies of people named "Montgomery Cunningham Meigs", but are differentiated by the article title are: Current Gen. Montgomery Meigs (b. 1945), son of Montgomery C. Meigs Meigs (1919-1944), and Montgomery C. Meigs, Jr. (1847-1931). Therefore, by deleting the redirect to the Civil War general who already has an article titled Montgomery C. Meigs, this article, titled "Montgomery Cunningham Meigs" can be created without conflict.
