The current City Council implies that a description of the former Montreal City Council systems is in order. Peter Horn 02:46, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

editWhat do people think is most useful: a listing by borough and position, as I'm adding now, or a listing by last name, of the form:
Name | Borough | Position | |
---|---|---|---|
Michael Applebaum | Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce | Borough mayor | |
Elaine Ayotte | Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie | City councillor, Marie-Victorin |

- Definitely by borough and position. It would be neat if we have sortable tables though. I like something similar to what is being used in New York City. Keep up the good work!--MTLskyline (talk) 19:32, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, that's kind of you! I think I'll move to a sortable table. The array of tables is a bit ugly now that I look at it again. - Montréalais (talk) 19:56, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- Done. It is now sortable by borough, position (and hence district), party (with leaders first), and last name. - Montréalais (talk) 20:31, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- I like it, it's very functional! Thanks! --MTLskyline (talk) 21:04, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Powers?
editThis article really needs a comprehensive list of the council's jurisdiction and exactly what it covers, not just the vague list in the intro paragraph. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.44.48.43 (talk) 04:47, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
parliamentary system?
editIs this a parliamentary system? Do parties have to form coaltions to form majorities, etc...? What's the current coalition? This page needs a bit more work to describe the electoral process and such. --Criticalthinker (talk) 02:40, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
