Track layout

It is claimed, that after the 1933 GP the 10 kilometer layout was abandoned. But the Combined oval/road course version was run from 1955 to 1969, without any chicanes included. So the 10 kilometer version was run up until 1969 as far as I can tell --AndroidOfNotreDame (talk) 12:53, 26 April 2017 (UTC)

After 1933, the original 10km layout was never used again. For the rest of the 30s a few different layouts were mapped out on the existing circuit, then the "Vedano" circuit was built, and finally the "new" (well it was new then...) 10km layout was ready for 1955, the main differences to the original 10km layout being the Parabolica, and slightly moving one of the Oval turns. The first Monza Grand Prix?

According to the GEL motorsport information page (http://www.teamdan.com/archive/gen/1929.html) the 1929 Monza GP was called "II Gran Premio di Monza", indicating that the first event was held one or more years prior to that. I haven't been able to find any information about this supposed first race, though. Does anybody know anything about this? KaptenKrater (talk) 18:42, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

I see that the 1922 "Gran Premio d'Autunno" has been added as the first Monza GP. This might very well be correct, but it would be nice with some kind of source verifying that this race was actually counted as the first Monza GP.KaptenKrater (talk) 21:56, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

The race organizers recognized it as the (second) race in 29 was officially named II Gran Premio di Monza[2] and as the 22 race was the only race in Monza prior to 29 (other than the Italian GP), it must have been it. --Sporti (talk) 05:15, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
