Talk:Moon ring
Latest comment: 12 years ago by 84.97.149.219 in topic Possible merge or ?
The contents of the Moon ring page were merged into 22° halo on 27 Dec 2012 and it now redirects there. For the contribution history and old versions of the merged article please see its history. |
I created this page responding to the old Montesian Moon Ring page. Someone, incorrectly said that it was named after "Monty Korpe", a (fictional) British astronomer. The only Monty Korpe I can find is a recently graduated college student. There were also a few errors on the page, such as conflating the moon ring with a moon bow - a separate phenomenon. --Justdweezil (talk) 04:34, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Possible merge or ?
editI believe this page is a duplication of 22° halo
I don't know guidelines on appropriate actions, merging or the such, I just wanted to make mention of it — Preceding unsigned comment added by Punkdigerati (talk • contribs) 05:44, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
- I agree. I don't know appropriate actions or guidelines either, but a "22° halo" and a "moon ring" appear to be the same thing. If you compare the sources from each of the articles, they both describe a "ring around the moon [...] caused by the refraction of moonlight from ice crystals in the upper atmosphere." - I agree with the merge: 22° halo and moon ring are the same thing. 84.97.149.219 (talk) 03:38, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
