Some things to perhaps mention: - The series I was sold as Major, Lancer and Wolseley 1500 in Australia - The series I was originally designed in Britain as a replacement for the series II Minor, but instead the series 1000 minor with curved glass etc kept the minor nametag. - The series I and II shared the Minor (and A30, Spridget etc) rear axle design and like the other cars with the same axle, broke axle shafts at the root of the splines. - The Elite had a redeisgned rear axle to address this issue, with finer splines, but the silly bastards succeeded in designing in a stress concentrater in the doff carrier with the result that the axles survived and the diffs broke instead. - The series II and Elite shared a newer body design which was never seen in the UK and was on a longer wheelbase than the series I. - Synchromesh on 2nd was invariably knackered. - Elite got downdraught carby, mechanical fuel pump, contrasting colour flashes, what else? - Anyone want a workshop manual?
