Talk:Mortal Kombat: Legacy

edit

To begin with. --Barry Sandwich (talk) 12:42, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

First time using the discussion section of a wiki page... I have removed the red links. I also have my own comment. From Episodes 1 and 2, it is revealed that Jax's title within the police department is Detective, not Major. As I'm aware, in the video game, he became a Major when he and Sonya formed the Outer World Investigation Agency after the events of the third game. As the Jax episode in this Legacy takes place before the events of the first game, before he became a "Major", and seeing as he is referred to as a "Detective" by Kano, wouldn't it be for the sake of being factual that his title remain as "Detective"? I say this because I noticed that his title is continually being changed but I was careful when I first created the Cast section to name him Detective, purely because that's what the series has revealed, even though we the fans are used referring to him as Major. U2hmtmkmkm (talk) 16:09, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

    • But in the credits of both episodes it states he is MAJOR Jackson Briggs. I know Kano calls him Detective but maybe it's because he knows Jax for a while, since before he was Major... 189.25.18.14 (talk) 16:31, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
      • Oh I never noticed that. I'm happy to keep it as Major now, too. I did a similar thing with naming Shang Tsung when episode 3 aired. He was not named in the episode but was in the credits. I wonder if the major/detective inconsistency just slipped through the cracks with Tanch or if he intentionally included the discrepancy. Either way, good to know he sticks true to the facts of the franchise. U2hmtmkmkm (talk) 17:05, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

The Wiki note to clean this article up, is that from Wikipedia itself or has someone else put it on there? I ask because this article seems pretty clean by now, doesn't it? Will that note go away automatically? U2hmtmkmkm (talk) 10:52, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Someone put it there. But the article looks pretty good by now. Feel free to delete it.-Koppapa (talk) 14:08, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Way too much IGN, needs more other reception

edit

For example:

--Barry Sandwich (talk) 12:40, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Also no unnotable reception like this Reel-something website. --Barry Sandwich (talk) 12:47, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • Will work on changing the sources so that it is not weighted towards one particular website or reviewer. What's the view on the current structure? I've deliberately put each episode in its own paragraph. Is this alright? Or should the reception of all episodes be combined into one para but separated under different headings talking about different kinds of reception, whatever they might be? For eg, Critical Reception, Fan Reception and Hits (the way TV shows have a section on Ratings)? Not sure about the Reel website. I think that's been removed. U2hmtmkmkm (talk) 15:33, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Also some references are repeating through the article. --Barry Sandwich (talk) 00:48, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

As far as I can tell, the ones that are repeated are repeated because they make different points. Which ones are unnecessary? U2hmtmkmkm (talk) 06:52, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Have rearranged the Reception section in order of hits, positive, negative and style change to combine all the comments made by the same websites into the one area, such as grouping all of IGN's positive comments. There's still too much weighted to them so it's a work in progress that I'm working on over the next few days. Have a bunch of reviews from various websites that I need to add, and use to replace some of the ones currently there. U2hmtmkmkm (talk) 14:08, 2 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Character Section Suggestion

edit

Think dividing the section is a good idea but suggest naming it Non-playable characters, as King Jerrod is actually a game character, but was just never playable.U2hmtmkmkm (talk) 06:05, 6 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mortal Kombat Wiki

edit

It seems like this article is far more detailed than the Mortal Kombat Wiki version of it. What do you think about copy and pasting some of this onto that page? Oldag07 (talk) 01:27, 20 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think it's a fine idea. But probably better that someone from the MK Wiki copies and pastes from here, as I'm sure the Wiki has their own capable contributors, rather than someone like myself jumping on their bandwagon and changing their pages. But, if they are happy to come and take what they need, then I say go for it. U2hmtmkmkm (talk) 01:44, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

As you can tell, I am not a contributor to that page either. But considering how inactive their legacy page is, and how active ours is, we could join up. . . Once I can clear my schedule, I think I will start adding stuff to that wiki. Oldag07 (talk) 13:35, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

News For a Movie

edit

In an article that can be found over here: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/entertainmentnewsbuzz/2011/09/mortal-kombat-movie-coming-as-warner-video-game-and-new-line-units-partner.html

It is information regarding the development for a movie based from this franchise, namely due to this director and web series. If someone would be so kind as to do the professional work of writing this into the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.179.114.192 (talk) 02:53, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Kuai Liang or Shao Kahn?

edit

Some of the articles I'm reading carry a generic quote that appears to be from some kind of press release announcing Harry Shum playing Kuai Liang – a "warlord adviser." That doesn't sound like the younger Sub-Zero to me... more like Shao Kahn. Though, the actor appears to resemble Kuai Liang as opposed to Kahn. So, amid the confusion, it's probably safer to assume Harry Shum is playing the younger Sub-Zero and we'll just wait for further confirmation in future.
