Discussion
editWhat is the significance of this "article"?
- Its significance is similar in magnitude to that of articles about other timezones.
MSKS or MSD?
editWhich is the correct time zone abbrevation for Moscow Summer time? If both are acceptable, then both should be included.
Daylight saving
editThis article should contain information on what date MSK changes to MSD and vice versa. Or, perhaps links to Daylight saving time around the world. And I suppose these dates has changed in 2006 or 2007, but I don't know where to find precise info.
"MSK"
editHow is this abbreviation formed? The Russian translation given doesn't appear to lead to it ("MV"?). 217.36.107.9 (talk) 16:14, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- My guess is it comes from the Latin transliteration of the Russian name for Moscow, which is Moskva. Trubetskoy 18:46, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
Airplane scheduling
editMoscow time is not used for scheduling airplane flights in Russia. Local time used instead. --213.174.113.122 (talk) 18:15, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Repealing 2011 law?
editThe text says that a 2011 law ended the distinction between Winter and Summer Time and put the Time Zone on permanent Summer Time (UTC+4). Then it says that in 2014, this law was repealed, putting the Time Zone on permanent UTC+3. If the 2011 law had simply been repealed, then Summer Time would still apply part of the year, which doesn't seem to have happened. So either the 2014 change included a repeal of the 2011 change together with a new change, or it simply made a new change without any repeal as such. ―Toby Bartels (talk) 23:27, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
- The law was about removing DST. They just f***** up and detroyed standard time that is Winter time. That really destroyed some applications and firmwares in various devices)) 2A00:1FA0:4401:4559:9D31:7EF1:8AE8:B347 (talk) 15:25, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
