Ammar suspension
editit happened and is occuring currently — Preceding unsigned comment added by CMLSislove (talk • contribs) 22:47, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Is it Notable? do you have Reliable sources? You have pretty much lost all credibility. VVikingTalkEdits 22:50, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Dead links (the CBC link) are acceptable to show the original source for a statement. It does not have to currently be available online. That's very different from giving no source at all. I doubt a school newspaper will be acceptable as a reliable source, especially for something that makes critical comments about a school staffer. That is a BLP issue and will definitely require a reliable source. Meters (talk) 23:04, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
School motto
editSo, is it ROAR (Respect, Ownership, Attitude, Responsibility) or CMLS (Compassion, Modesty, Love, Sympathy)? ROAR has been on the page for at least 7 years, and there is no source for the supposed change to CMLS, but there is also no ref for ROAR. I'm going to remove both versions if a ref is not provided. Meters (talk) 02:07, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
- ROAR has been restored by another editor, and the editor pushing CMLS is blocked, so I'll leave it be unless someone else wants to claim that the motto has changed. Meters (talk) 06:11, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
The motto has been changed. When Mrs Sortome left last year and when mr Wozney came in September of this year, he changed it — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moscropstudent99 (talk • contribs) 01:30, December 15, 2014
- Great. Then I'm sure you can produce a source to support that motto change. I wouldn't want to have to assume that you are a sock just because your account was created immediately after the block of the editor whose name starts with CMLS, one of your first edit (mere minutes after being created) was to the thread on my talk page about this issue, and you then repeated the same edits to this article as the blocked editor. Meters (talk) 04:07, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- I've added an August 2014 ref found by another editor that gives the motto as ROAR. Don't change it without a ref to show that it has been changed since then. Meters (talk) 18:08, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
Notable Alumni
editFrom WP:WPSCH/AG alumni to be included must meet Wikipedia notability criteria.
With regard to the many attempts to add Khalid Boudreau, there's no evidence that Khalid Boudreau is either a bird activist or notable. Simply being mentioned in a news article does not make one notable. The discovery of a previously unknown BC nesting spot of the pelicans is interesting, but is not sufficient show this student's notability. That requires significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources which are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject.
Stop adding him unless he is demonstrably notable. Meters (talk) 04:24, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
My mistake, I'm sorry. Moscropstudent99 (talk) 05:31, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
looking for sources
editCan anyone provide sources for Woodstock and Cornfest activities, or for the somewhat dubious claims about phys ed? Meters (talk) 23:16, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
- Here, I think this should do the trick, last paragraph- http://moscropsecondary.com/pages/Leadership/ FrontierMountie (talk) 23:23, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm not surprised that the events actually exist, but I'm not sure that we need the trivia about the specifics (even if that can be verified). The phys ed claims seem particularly dubious. It's hard to believe that there is almost no equipment beyond a few basketballs. Meters (talk) 23:39, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
- Indeed, the phys ed claim appears to be dubious, I suggest leaving it out of the article unless someone else can find sources supporting its verifiability. Thanks for your continued support on this article. FrontierMountie (talk) 23:47, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
- Agreed. I've added your ref for the special activities. Meters (talk) 23:49, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
