Oldest governing body?!

I don't understand the following statement. As such, it seems false, given that the Oecumenical Patriarchy governed itself for far longer than 200 years:

At the time of its disestablishment, it was the oldest governing body (Holy Synod) among the various Orthodox Churches.

Caesaropapism

The claims of caesaropapism in this article are unsourced. I am confused how it is that the advice of 2 church bishops to create a reform is caesaropapism (which it is my understanding is the idea that the Secular Leader is the leader or a leader with authority over the church). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kharaku (talk • contribs) 20:19, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Considering the reform was imposed upon the church by Peter, I can't see how it isn't caesaropapism. That he found compliant bishops who influenced and supported the changes doesn't make it any less true that the monarch (Czar, a term that derives from Caesar) put himself in charge of the church. oknazevad (talk) 20:18, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

1917 or 1918?

This article says "between 1721 and 1918, when the Patriarchate was restored" but the linked article "Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus'" says "the patriarchate was restored on October 28 (November 10), 1917". Most holy?

From what I can find, святейший should be translated to holy, not most holy. Google Translate translates most holy as святейший, but according to the Russian dictionary, святейший is the title of patriarchs and popes, which would be the equivalent of the English Holiness, His Holiness. — XComhghall (talk) 05:11, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

Sorry. Forgot to correct myself. Святейший as in the Most Holy Synod is the superlative of свято́й 'holy'.[1] Священный as in the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church means only 'sacred', and is not a comparative or superlative.[2] — XComhghall (talk) 10:42, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
