Rename
editPerhaps this article merits a renaming? Motorola Mobility/Lenovo calls it razr (in lower case), so it could be Motorola razr. Alternatively, going by MM's naming customs it could be titled Moto Razr. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 19:38, 14 November 2019 (UTC)
- That violates MOS:TM. ViperSnake151 Talk 04:56, 15 November 2019 (UTC)
I think we should wait for the media to settle on how to call it. Then we can use the media’s concensus. Paisley Liverpool (talk) 06:42, 15 November 2019 (UTC)
Motorola lists it on their own website as the Motorola Razr (2019) and the new one as the Motorola Razr (2020) https://www.motorola.com/us/smartphones-razr-family

The result of the move request was: unsure what happened. This discussion was apparently "closed" almost a year ago in this edit by Ghostofakina, but this section was never properly closed, so I'm closing it now. (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 22:35, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
Motorola Razr foldable → Motorola Razr (2019) – The device is referred to as the Razr by Motorola, and no secondary sources refer to it as the Razr foldable. Ghostofakina (talk) 02:41, 15 November 2019 (UTC)
- I moved it to Motorola Razr (2020). All citations are pointing towards an early-2020 release, not 2019. ViperSnake151 Talk 04:56, 15 November 2019 (UTC)

It was proposed in this section that Motorola Razr (2020) be renamed and moved to Motorola Razr (4G) .
result: This is template {{subst:Requested move/end}} |
Motorola Razr (2020) → Motorola Razr (4G) – Motorola has announced a 5G-capable second generation Razr. As a result, using nomenclature by year will be confusing. Ghostofakina (talk) 15:26, 10 September 2020 (UTC) —Relisting. Primefac (talk) 18:44, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose Motorola Razr 4G since that seems to not be the name of the device in references. Suggest Motorola Razr (4G) if no other options are presented to get the part of the suggested titles that is not part of the subject's name into a disambiguator. Steel1943 (talk) 22:39, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- Comment: This nomination was formerly set up as a proposal for Motorola Razr 4G prior to this edit by the nominator. Steel1943 (talk) 01:04, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose since 4G was never used as a differentiator for this device. We’re not using “iPhone (2G)” for the first iPhone either. Would something like “Motorola Razr (1st generation)” be suitable? —mountainhead / ? 22:10, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose Motorola Razr (4G) per User:mountainhead. Suggest Motorola Razr (Original) instead. The Incognito Guy (Browsing privately) 04:04, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
- The problem with (original) or (1st generation) is that those could be confused with the clamshell Motorola Razr phones from the 2000s. If the phones are as similar as they appear to my quick Google search, why not merge the articles instead? Iffy★Chat -- 22:40, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
