What about danger to the testicles?
editFrom the picture, it looks like the guy on the bottom has a wide open shot on the nuts of the guy who's on top.
Attacking the testicles from such a position is a terrible idea. First the pants of the attacker are bridged taut away from his crotch, since his legs are spread, and that gives a little protection. Lowering one, or both, of your hands to his crotch would leave your face completely exposed. Try focusing on maiming someone's testicles while he has his fingers in your eyes. Because the target is right next to your body, and your arms have limited range of motion from the bottom of the mount, punching the testicles with any force what-so-ever would be next to impossible. Also, going for the testicles is considered a 'dirty' move, so your opponent would likely respond by going for an equally 'dirty' target, and since your face is wide open in front of him, he'll probably just gauge out your eyes.
In such a position you should never think about attacking. You should be focused on defending your face, keeping your arms tucked in to avoid a keylock, possibly getting wrist control, and then bridging to bring the knee through to half-guard or rolling over to the top position. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.233.169.21 (talk) 21:41, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Also try and explode and bridge out of the position (this is very hard to do). Throw the guy on top off balance so he never has time to get a clean shot at you.
... hey can somebody add to the article that Pride fighter/commentator calls this position the bigger brother position. I think it is the perfect name for it and that is what he likes to call it, he mentions it during the Pride Bushido Vol. 12 event arround a half an hour in. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.132.0.255 (talk) 07:34, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
