Undetected events
editThe article states: "Undetected events are not recorded or surveyed in British Columbia immediately". Maybe I'm missing something, but this seems pretty obvious: if an event is not detected, it's not going to be recorded, at least not until it's discovered/figured out, etc. Is there a more precise way to put this?

- True. I thought about this when I created the article but I added it because the reference states it. It's probably better if it were deleted. Black Tusk (talk) 15:23, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Streams
editHi Pfly, this will probably be my next article to work on. Like Level Mountain, there are several creeks draining the Mount Edziza volcanic complex. I'm not sure if you are up for the task after creating articles for the Level Mountain creeks/rivers but the following appear to drain this complex:
- Artifact Creek
- Ball Creek
- Bourgeaux Creek
- Chakima Creek
- Crayke Creek
- Elwyn Creek
- Flyin Creek
- Gerlib Creek
- Kadeya Creek
- Kitsu Creek
- Little Iskut River
- More Creek
- Nagha Creek
- Nido Creek
- Raspberry Creek
- Sezill Creek
- Shaman Creek
- Sorcery Creek
- Stewbomb Creek
- Tadekho Creek
- Taweh Creek
- Tenchen Creek
- Tennaya Creek
- Tsecha Creek
- Walkout Creek
I know there's not a lot of information for these small creeks but they're still notable enough to have their own articles. They all appear to be part of the Stikine River drainage basin so they should fit nicely into what we have been doing lately. But it will probably take me months to completely rewrite and expand this article from scratch (much longer than for Hoodoo Mountain) so there should be lots of time for you to continue work on the Iskut and Level Mountain streams. This article should be just as large as the one for Level Mountain if not larger given how much information is available for this volcanic complex. It may even turn into one of the largest articles I have ever wrote lol. Volcanoguy 00:08, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- Heh yep those all fit into the region regional streams I've been looking at anyway. The smaller streams tend to be pretty easy and quick when there's not a ton to say, like with Twin River near Hoodoo. I started to work on improving Iskut River, which is taking more time since there's more to say. Some of these you've listed are Iskut tributaries or flow from the same area as some Iskut tributaries, so they are somewhat familiar. In any case, I do want to keep working on BC stream pages in general, so this is all just fine. My free time has dwindled a little recently, but it's not like Wikipedia needs to be finished next week or anything. I've been enjoying learning more about the geography of this rather remote part of BC. Pfly (talk) 04:34, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- That's good! I may be able to add some information regarding volcanic hazards for the Iskut River article if you haven't already. Apparently the Little Iskut River was blocked in the past by lava flows from the Edziza complex which resulted in the formation of a large lake upstream. Volcanoguy 06:51, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Pfly: Hi, I'm just wondering if you would be interested in creating articles for the listed creeks. Although it's not a requirement, it would be great to have articles for them in a potential FA article. Volcanoguy 15:09, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry, my Wikipedia-ing has been patchy and unpredictable for a while, for various reasons. I will try to do these sooner or later, but hesitate to promise anything since life is chaos and all, heh. Still, I do want to, and will try to get to it. Sorry for being flakey lately! Where "lately" means at least two years, according to the dates on these comments here. Wow time flies. Damn. Pfly (talk) 03:31, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- Would it be worthwhile to have all these creeks get a single unified article rather than one-article-per-creek? I think maintaining such unified articles can sometimes be easier than many smaller ones. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 06:58, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what that unified article would be. All of the streams I listed above are in the Stikine River drainage basin but the Stikine River article is already quite lengthy. An article about the drainage basin would also become large since the Stikine is a major river containing hundreds of tributaries. There's also not a whole lot of information about hydrology at the Mount Edziza complex to really warrant a separate article. Volcanoguy 22:45, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- I was thinking more a list article like List of seamounts in the Marshall Islands. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 08:17, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
- Would a list article still be worthwhile if most or all of the listed creeks have enough information to write articles that are larger than stubs? It should be possible to write articles about them that are at least start class. Volcanoguy 01:20, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- Up to you. If the crewk articles can get GA-like length individual articles may be called for. If not, a list might be a better call. JoJo Eumerus mobile (main talk) 05:57, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
- It would be an easier decision to make if I knew of a single unified article about streams flowing from a specific mountain or mountain range to get an idea of how to put one together. Obviously such an article would be different from one about seamounts. There's a List of rivers of the Rocky Mountains but all the listed rivers have their own articles. - Oh hang on, Flyin Creek? Sorcery? Stewbomb? Heh, with names like those I'll try to do at least those soon! I'll try to do more, but how can me, Pfly, not do Flyin Creek? heh. Pfly (talk) 23:30, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Pfly: I thought of you when I saw Flyin Creek heh. So far I have expanded Mess Creek and the Klastline River, created Kakiddi Creek and I have changed the Walkout Creek, Taweh Creek and Raspberry Creek redirects into start-class articles. Currently working on Sezill Creek. Volcanoguy 00:00, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
