editI changed the lower-case "gai"s to "Gai" to match the article's title. I tried googling it, but couldn't determine if one or the other was more correct. Also, it was only sometimes hyphenated. Maybe a NSW person knows more. --Fang Aili 04:11, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
The correct spelling for this suburb has only one hyphen. It is not clear whether the Gai should be capitalised however. www.gnb.nsw.gov.au uses both in its reference.
As a person who grew up and lived in Mt Kuring-gai for 20 years, I can vouch that the correct spelling has a lower-case g for 'gai' (eg, Mt. Kuring-gai is correct).Mtulett (talk) 12:20, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
