In the article, as you editted it, it refers to "the light blue of the informal hunting dress". This must mean Mrs Andrew's pale blue satin dress, with which she is wearing yellow satin petticoat and little pink satin shoes. I am very curious to know why it is referred to as a "hunting dress". This looks to me like a rather fine day dress, being of pale coloured satin. Is there a reliable source for this? Amandajm 14:35, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Article's style

This reads rather more like an essay than a simple, encyclopedic article. There's fine information in it, but bits like "everything here is unmistakably English" or "The oak tree in front of which they stand has several connotations [. . .] family business" could probably be made more objective. It reads like a subjective analysis.

Something like "Both sitters gaze coolly at the spectator" seems like it is rather copied out of one of the cited books. Shouldn't sentences like that be discarded?
