Talk:ms2 (software)

Name of Article

edit

The title of this page should be "ms2" instead of "molecular simulation 2". How can this be changed?

@TimeStep89: It could be renamed to ms2 (software) or something like that. ms2 links to a disambiguation page. Also, the developers consistently italicize the first two letters, but Wikipedia generally doesn't do that. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trademarks. Same with lower case for the first letter. Your thoughts? SchreiberBike | ⌨  20:44, 28 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Dear @SchreiberBike:, thanks for the clear explanation. Renaming the article to ms2 (software) would be great. To italicize the first to letters of ms2 does not seem too necessary to me. Can I carry out the renaming?
@TimeStep89: Go for it. I've got the page on my watchlist. You will also have to add the {{lowercase title}} template to the article near the top. I'll watch the page and help with the editing as needed. SchreiberBike | ⌨  20:48, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
P.S. The {{ping}} template doesn't work unless you sign the note. It's also good practice. Use ~~~~ at the end of your note.
@SchreiberBike: Thanks for the heads-up on the ~~~~ (I'm still new to these details on wikipedia..). I have changed the title. Thanks for the support! TimeStep89 (talk) 22:09, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SchreiberBike: Another question you may advise me: under what conditions can the remarks in the big box be removed? -> "This article has multiple issues. ...." I mean, the article seems to me to be in line with the two mentioned guide lines ('general notability guideline' and 'primary sources' guidelines), but the issues box seems to me to be something too official such that I would not just want to remove it without understanding the regulations of these issue boxes TimeStep89 (talk) 22:11, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Tedickey and TimeStep89: Tedickey added the tags, maybe they can give some insight. SchreiberBike | ⌨  04:40, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
The templates are linked to guidelines (start there). Just looking at this now, there still appear to be no independent third-party reliable sources used as evidence of notability. Instead, what we have is a list of publications by the authors of the program. TEDickey (talk) 00:43, 1 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
