Monjur or Manzur?

edit

The article is titled "Abul Monjur", but it spells his name "Manzur" throughout. I have no idea which is right, but consistency would be good. Maproom (talk) 14:53, 13 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have to ageee. i think this person is also the same "Manzur" who deleted the Bangladeshi map from the original flag of BD? i can't be sure of it Saajan99 (talk) 12:32, 14 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Correction of role in the assasinaton

edit

The truth has bot been portrayed here and as such I have made the necessary corrections along with cited materials. Manzoor was the one who assasinated President Zia, now if he shot the President is unknown but the BBC along with other media and Diplomats have stated him as the main conspirator. There is no hard evidence that conspiracy was carried out by Ershad. The BNP led Government that came to poer twice after Ershad' downfall never saw to it that he is convicted of the alleged crime. there are further documentation of the division in the army and the revolt by General Manzoor. He was a war hero none-the-less, but he will always be remembered for the wrong reasons. The man who conspired to kill President Zia. As such I have made the correction. --Incognito1980 20:01, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

POV

edit

Looks like parts of this article are written to demean or glorify the person.

The intro says, "Major General Muhammad Abul Manzur (1940 - 1981) was a disgruntled Bangladeshi army officer who conspired and was the main man responsible for the assassination of Ziaur Rahman..."
It is not a job of wikipedia to point out whether he was the main man in the conspiracy and that too without citation.
At one point it is written that Manzur used to run his division 'as his own private game preserve' and that he was a 'menacing general'!

On the other hand, that he was a war hero is repeated many times. The most striking is the concluding line.

A war hero and a sector commander of the Liberation War freedom fighter only to be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Please take care of these. --Sabih 15:34, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

≥I dont agree with the article that he was the mastermind behind the assisinatino of zia . Is there any proof of that in the histry —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.18.231.14 (talk) 13:35, 22 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
