Hello fellow Wikipedians, I am taking a Wikipedia training for my Advance Qualitative Research class. One of the exercises I am doing requires me to leave a comment here by selecting one of the questions I had to answer. How can the article be improved? Hello, I think the aricle's content relavant to the topic and also highly linked to the lead. The content updates on time. On my opinion, the subsidiary section which is 2.1 is not closely linked to the section 2. It might to set as an independent section.Ygplusplus (talk) 01:45, 24 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

A few of the sources have links that do not work and are labeled as "permanent dead link". These sources should be reviewed and modified if they do not provide information related to the article. The components of Multilingual Education are bulleted and are concise, however, the quoted "mother tongue education" could be elaborated on and defined for the reader who may not be familiar with MLE terminology. The viewpoints of the article are addressed with reference to scholars specifically working on MLE research, "Andhra Pradesh and Orissa have adopted a thematic approach to multilingual education.", is an example of the different approaches to MLE education. With reference to, "The Multilingual Education in this approach emphasizes first language first in the child taking the socio- cultural curriculum in to classroom culture and then bridge to second language. ", another viewpoint is addressed in the MLE approaches in schools. The arrow symbol can be deleted at the end of the statement. "In addition to the basic theory of Paulo Freire on critical pedagogy, Gramscian theory on education, Lev Vigostky's scaffolding and Piaget's theory of cognition is applied in the Multilingual Education.", these names and terms are familiar to educators, however, you may want to elaborate about how these theories relate to the MLE individually with examples provided for each. Vygotsky also will need a spell check. In addition to this, the names of theories should be capitalized such as "Piaget's Theory of Cognition". In the sentence, "The unique thing in this approach is to involve the community in creating their own curriculum and minimise the theoretical hegemony, thereby creating a new set of people who believe in the ethics of creating and sharing knowledge for the society than to limit it to the theoreticians." the word minimize needs to be spell checked. The terms "programme" and "program" are both used interchangeably. I would recommend to check this for consistency throughout the article. "Scholars and educators have argued that embracing the diverse linguistic knowledge that immigrant students bring to the developed countries, such as the United States, and using students’ first-languages to help them learn English may be an inexpensive and effective way to integrate and socialize immigrant youth." another viewpoint is addressed, however, grammatically the sentence is lengthy and can be shortened into two sentences. "Multilingual Education in India, The Csse For English Edited by Dr MAhendra (capitalization error) Kumar Mishra and Prof Anand Mahanand published by Viva Books, New Delhi 2016.", is this a resource that has been accessed? Is there a link that can be provided? As a reader with little prior knowledge related to MLE, the term "code switching" should be clearly defined with reference to the statement, "Allowing code-switching in schools with high English learner (EL) populations can increase the potential for enhanced English-learning and academic performance. Code-switching between multi-lingual children can create an informal peer-mentorship structure that embraces immigrant children's linguistic capabilities to drive learning, create a strong peer-network, and enhance the development of English as a Second Language skills for immigrant students in multi-ethnic schools".
