When I first saw this article, I assumed it was another fan page for an obscure figure. There are very few sources, most of which aren't primarily about the article's subject, and even the claims to notability in the article itself are flimsy. Upon searching, however, I found overwhelming evidence that the subject is quite notable. Why the article has remained in such a miserable state is beyond me, but it's in some serious need of expansion. That shouldn't be difficult given the broad coverage in the news, but it will take time. MezzoMezzo (talk) 06:26, 12 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

I have asked for a page protection (full edit) for this article to prevent it from disruptive editing. Mufti Muneeb is not a Grand Mufti of Pakistan as per neutral sources added earlier. The title is mere honorary and I have added a relevant section about this on Authordom's talk page. See User talk of Authordom…
Hope this page is protected from vandalism - Aaqib Anjum Aafī (talk) 12:54, 29 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
In many articles, Muneeb and Rafi have been used as the Mufti of Pakistan by the national news agencies. Rafi is not a government official, but Muneeb is the highest Islamic religious authority in Pakistan appointed by then Prime Minister Imran Khan. ❁ᴀᴜᴛʜᴏʀ❁(❁ᴅᴏᴍ❁)02:13, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
We cannot see that they are designated as a Grand Mufti anywhere, except that national media are used as a Grand Mufti. The Grand Mufti is not just an honorary title but the highest Islamic religious authority of a country or state. ❁ᴀᴜᴛʜᴏʀ❁(❁ᴅᴏᴍ❁)05:12, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Relevant discussion at your talk page is enough to prove Grand Mufti as an honorary title in Pakistan. Most neutral sources don't mention him as Mufti e Azam — and it is co-related with Mufti Rafi on the same Jhang newspaper - a place Mufti Taqi Usmani has been mentioned as Grand Mufti by BBC and thus both regarded as Mark of Respect for their indepth knowledge. Don't be stubborn please. Cheers -Aaqib Anjum Aafī (talk) 12:23, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
I am also astonished to see that how does an appeal become a proof of someone being a Grand Mufti. Even you as a citizen can make appeal to the government, does that promote you to the status of a Grand Mufti? -- this GeoTv report does not meet the quality of being used a proof that Mufti Muneeb was anyway appointed by State to be a GRAND MUFTI. Wherever the title is used, it is used only as a mark of respect. - Aaqib Anjum Aafī (talk) 12:59, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
