"Moroccan parents"

edit

Is it accurate to call Munir's parents both "Moroccan"? The father was indeed from Morocco, but the mother was from Melilla (a Spanish exclave) even though she is also Arab and Muslim. It would be a neologism to call them "ethnic Moroccans" and extremely vague to simply call them "Arabs". '''tAD''' (talk) 23:42, 7 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

From what I read only his father is Moroccan. SLBedit (talk)
I know that she was born in Spain, but the reader could get the impression that Munir was from a mixed family, but sources say that both of his parents were ethnic and religious minorities. '''tAD''' (talk) 22:12, 8 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
The Muslims of Melilla are rifeña culture, they are not Arabs. All Melilla are Spanish, they can be Christians, Muslims or Jews. Christians are "Andalusians" however it never gets this. Therefore it should only be that the mother is Spanish and Muslim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.44.155.17 (talk) 18:01, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
The source from El País says that in his neighbourhood everybody spoke Arabic. There is precisely no source anywhere on the article saying that he is a Riffian Berber. '''tAD''' (talk) 20:57, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
What sources you say? There is not a source the newspaper "El País". Is the newspaper El Mundo (Spain). I can not see it, the article charges. So nobody can not check it. I do not know because you are hiding the mother is Spanish. I have family in Melilla. Muslims are rifeña culture, they are not Arabs. But it gets clear that the father is Moroccan.81.44.155.17 (talk) 22:09, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
"Hiding that the mother is Spanish" - We say she was born in Melilla, Spain. '''tAD''' (talk) 22:23, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
You have precisely no reference except original research that the mother is Riffian, and did not say anything about that in your edit summaries before. You also seem to not be able to grasp that one can be both Arab (ethnicity/culture) and Spanish (nationality), the two are not mutually exclusive. '''tAD''' (talk) 22:27, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
