Confusing
The first few sentences are confusing (me).
First: Mural = art on a permanent wall
Second: Has to incorporate architecture harmoniously
Third: Wallpainting may be done on canvas and then attached to the wall
So now I remain wondering ... Is a mural the same as a wall painting or even a wall painting just one kind of mural ? And what about that second requirement ? Is a wall painting that does not incorporate any architecture not a mural ? I think that could/should be expressed in such a way that the reader understands it without any doubt remaining. I find the end this passage in History confusing: "The best-known is probably fresco, which uses water-soluble paints with a damp lime wash, rapid use of the resulting mixture over a large surface, and often in parts (but with a sense of the whole)." Does it mean it was completed in discrete parts but conceived as a whole? Hephae3tion (talk) 18:00, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
A while ago I tried to improve this page by making it clear that a mural has to be on a wall. My edit was described as vandalism and removed. While it's patent nonsense that a mural can be anywhere else than on a wall, the article now says that it can, and without any authoritative citation. No wonder you find it confusing.
