Murder! (1930 film) → Murder! – There is no other film with the exact same name (the unrelated 2004 film excludes the ! from its title). Kailash29792 (talk) 08:51, 15 March 2017 (UTC)

• Oppose the ! is neither unique to this film, nor always used of this film "..Murder (1930)," , and "(1930 film)" does a lot better per WP:CRITERIA for a 1930 film than an exclamation mark. In ictu oculi (talk) 13:38, 15 March 2017 (UTC)

• Strong support per nom, WP:SMALLDETAILS, WP:D, WP:COMMONNAME, WP:CRITERIA, WP:TITLE and every other pertinent policy and guideline. Whether the ! belongs in the title is not at issue here - it's in both the current and proposed titles. The question is solely about whether "(1930 film)" is necessary to disambiguate this film from other uses of "Murder!" (with the !). Given that Murder! is currently a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to this article anyway, it is already established that this film is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Murder!". There is no basis per WP:D or WP:COMMONNAME or anywhere in WP:TITLE to retain the unnecessary disambiguation. As to WP:SMALLDETAILS, it clearly supports the undisambiguated title in this case. These are all guidelines that you have been actively involved in attempting to get changed along the same lines as the "insult" to Michael Jackson comment at the RM you have proposed at Talk:Thriller (Michael Jackson album).
