This article needs help

edit

1) The link www.lasvegasweekly.com/features/the_devil.html (which is the basis of much of this article) is broken and I have yet to find the piece anywhere else on the internet

2) What's with the 2008 section? Surely this is not the way we do things on Wikipedia? Testbed (talk) 17:10, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The article: "Some locals believe, knowing the personality of Mr. Kunz, that he was possibly murdered by a local who knew he had molested one of his male students at St. Michael’s."

The source cited: "Investigators focused for a time on the possibility that his uncompromising conservative views could have sparked the attack....Two years after the murder, then-Sheriff Gary Hamblin outraged some parishioners by suggesting that Kunz had a history of having intimate relationships with women, which could have led to a murder by a jealous husband or boyfriend." Notability

edit

I was about to question whether this article was notable, but it does appear to satisfy WP:GNG by having articles dedicated to it in independent sources. Also, the references and quotes herein appear to be appropriately cited. Still, I don't feel that a murder is, itself, deserving of a Wikipedia article. If someone could help improve the article to make clearer why the priest in question stands out, that would be helpful. - Brian Kendig (talk) 02:51, 20 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

As someone who has followed and written about the Kunz case for a number of years, I can say that the current Wikipedia entry is largely outdated. Regarding secular news sources, there was significant coverage of this case in 2019 as part of the "Unsolved" podcast and articles for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Also, HLN devoted an episode of its 2022 original series "Real Life Nightmare with Paul Holes" to this case. In my opinion, the entry should either be updated with more recent information or scrapped entirely. 128.92.111.246 (talk) 03:22, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I also wrote the paragraph above. I decided to update the entry with more recent and appropriate information pertaining to the case. 2603:6000:A305:2600:4151:BA89:8565:AC1 (talk) 08:25, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
