editNote that there is also some history at Betty Osborne, as the content from that article was later merged into this one. --Saforrest 17:48, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
- *looks down* I should have noted this here when I merged them; my bad, and thank you both for adding it. Samaritan 22:54, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

editThree of the paragraphs in this article were almost directly copied from http://www.maoritelevision.com/latestnews/friday_feature_conspiracy_of_silence.htm . I have replaced them. —GrantNeufeld 20:19, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
Accuracy?
editUnder subheading "murder investigation" it reads: "The Aboriginal Justice Implementation Commission conducted an investigation into concerns surrounding the length of time involved in resolving the case. The Commission concluded that the most significant factors prolonging the case were racism, sexism and indifference."
However the AJIC investigation itself, which this page links to, states: "There are several aspects of the case which the RCMP should have handled better, and there is no excuse for the discriminatory and insensitive treatment which some Aboriginal people received at the hands of the police. Nevertheless, we are satisfied that any delay caused by the RCMP in bringing the matter to trial was not caused by racism on the part of the RCMP or any member of the RCMP."
This section needs an overhaul that more fairly resembles its sources. Deucalion1990 (talk) 21:16, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

Changing title to Murder of Helen Betty Osborne
editThe majority of article focuses on her murder and the aftermath. Thoughts?Scott218 (talk) 14:23, 18 October 2018 (UTC)
Norman Manger
editAccording to your article, four caucasion young men were implicated in Helen Betty Osborne's death. However, when I read about the case many years ago, one of the young men, Norman Manger, was First Nations just like Helen Betty Osborne was.--Splashen (talk) 23:04, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
