The Department of Immigration should have some explaining to do, letting in someone on a false passport. That should have been noticed. How about opening bank accounts and international travel - nobody noticed?

Peculiar is also, not on an official but sociological level, that the parents were totally absent. Where were they? 'McGurk' came here first in 1993, being 35 years old. Why can't it be said what he did for a living back in Britain, or had he been with one of the secret services, which would explain a lot of things. The public has a right to know what the routes and methods are for illegal immigrants so they can be plugged. Now we have to feed the Medich group in jail. 144.136.176.116 (talk) 04:18, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am not familiar with the technicalities but here's another article that is rather interesting:

5 years on

edit

After 5 years, there is still no court case or overview from police, but two books about the man and his associates have been banned through super-injunctions. Who's got something to hide? I don't believe it's police incompetence, someone wants this case forgotten. Would Medich have something to spill if he had to go to court? Now it's been dragged out, so he'll die before the court case. Then he'll be declared the culprit to keep under wraps whatever Sydney Inc. wants to keep under wraps. One day, someone will write a factional thriller about McGurk, with all names and some places changed. 121.209.56.24 (talk) 02:58, 9 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

6 1/2 years on - the murder of the mover and shaker of 'Sydney Inc.' (don't look for the book) has still not been in court. Someone doesn't like something to come out. Secrecy fuels speculation and conspiracy theories. 58.174.193.2 (talk) 05:57, 23 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Moving on to 8 years now and nobody in the dock!!!
What is really peculiar is that McGurk would have been 35 when he turned up here in 1993 - and nowhere have I ever seen what exactly he did until then. This is sus. Combine that with the censorship to ban both books and now old articles becoming link dysfunctional there must be more than meets the eye - big secrets, significant secrets?? We are being led up the garden path. 2001:8003:A921:6300:704B:D3AE:2256:3C0E (talk) 06:00, 3 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to archive the following link, maybe this book becomes available one day. https://www.amazon.com/Sydney-Inc-Kate-McClymont/dp/0522857817 for "Sydney Inc: The Murky World of Michael McGurk ... ISBN-13, 9780522857818 ... by investigative reporters Kate McClymont and Vanda Carson." 2001:8003:A921:6300:F521:F8DE:A190:4E96 (talk) 05:26, 2 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Ron Medich, found guilty

edit

FYI. Ron Mecich found guilty! Updated here. 220 of Borg 07:32, 23 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

@220 of Borg: Thanks. Just some minor tweaks to lede and close. It's taken forever. Can't see why the first jury did not succeed! Should Ron Medich now get his own article, given links here and also at Eddie Obeid and Ian Macdonald? Rangasyd (talk) 08:04, 23 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
'Tis done @ Ron Medich. Rangasyd (talk) 11:21, 23 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yay! But, it has already been 'vandalised'!   See here
Maybe Michael Loch McGurk should now be moved to Murder of Michael McGurk? How notable was he 'outside' his murder? 220 of Borg 07:25, 24 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
I agree re McGurk. He was not notable before, unlike Donald McKay, John Newman (politician), etc. I will get to it later. His infobox should then be "event" and not "person". Rangasyd (talk) 20:17, 24 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@220 of Borg: 'Tis done re move Michael McGurk to Murder of Michael McGurk.

One day, the people who had something to hide and banned the following book will obviously no longer be with us so the data should be preserved. {Sydney Inc: The Murky World of Michael McGurk by Kate McClymont, Vanda Carson • Paperback: 256 pages • Publisher: Melbourne University Press (1 Nov. 2010) • Language: English • ISBN-10: 0522857817 • ISBN-13: 978-0522857818} In some archives the data have already been purged. I would have liked to translate both banned McGurk books or made one book in my old language from the two. The bans would not be valid in all jurisdictions. I have no control over what is sent to me anonymously. Ally Hauptmann-Gurski 2001:8003:AC60:1400:F899:D3E0:FDF3:289E (talk) 06:16, 5 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
