Hi. I'm personally unsure (and do not see how the text or references establish) how WP:NCRIME and WP:NVICTIM are met here. Unless there are references which establish WP:LASTING change or effect, for example a change in legislation or Garda procedure or whatever, then I'm unclear on how independent notability is established. (Relative to every other instance of femicide in Ireland.) Unless WP:LASTING is supported/established, I'd personally advocate (as an AtD) that we consider summarising/merging any relevant content to (perhaps) the only other (non-list) article which mentions the subject. And redirecting this title to that section (or a more specific anchor in that section). Other thoughts? Guliolopez (talk) 16:53, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Bump. Are there any thoughts on the above? Wondering, in particular, if DocumentingIt (as author) and Moriwen (as PRODer) have thoughts(?) Guliolopez (talk) 20:34, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Support merge. Agree with all the points you make re: notability.— Moriwen (talk) 14:35, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I'm not in favour. I'm continuing to research and grow this article in hopes of establishing it's value — Preceding unsigned comment added by DocumentingIt (talkcontribs) 23:50, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi. Thanks for your note DocumentingIt. And efforts. To confirm, however, the relevant guidelines are not based on an article's "value". But on the notability of the article's subject. In this case WP:NVICTIM, WP:NOTNEWS, WP:NEVENT and WP:LASTING apply. Not every murder (however horrible) meets these criteria. Unless your additional research confirms that this murder was "a precedent or catalyst for something else", like a change in "society and legislation", then "value" (or additional content) alone is unlikely to meet the criteria. Will give you space and revisit. Guliolopez (talk) 11:48, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi @DocumentingIt. I have removed the merge proposal tag. On the basis that there is limited support. And that there is now (albeit not overwhelming) evidence of coverage indicating "[some changes to] views and behaviors of society and legislation". As expected by WP:LASTING. That being said, ideally (and per the tag at the end of the article) there would be some verifiable/independent source which actually connects the 2017 legislation to the subject here. Perhaps something from the debate stage of that act. Otherwise that text (a form of "conclusion") kinda reads like original research. Thanks again. Guliolopez (talk) 13:55, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
