Clean up needed

edit

I changed some URLs that had been added to the References section to External links, but in due course many of the links should be removed. Since the event is very recent, it is too early to properly decide what links should or should not be retained, so I left them all for a decision later. With luck, a reliable source will write a more detailed account that could be used to replace many of the current refs/links. The references using http://www.smuct.com/?p=464 will need to be removed because smuct.com is a students' blog and so is not a reliable source (it is used as a reference for the birth date and place in the infobox). Some of the refs/links can be removed as redundant. Would someone please provide a brief summary for the first two external links ([1] and [2]). Per WP:NONENGEL these links would need to be used as references (not external links), and per WP:IRS the sources would have to be reliable to be used as references. Most of the sources are reliable. The Daily Star is the largest circulated and most prominent English language newspaper in Bangladesh. Prothom alo is the largest circulated newspaper in Bangladesh and jugantor is one of the oldest and easily falls into top ten newspapers of Bangladesh by circulation. Most of the newspapers of Bangladesh are published in Bengali and usually do not have an online edition. Overall I would say that only a few of the sources are questionable and they will re replaced soon.(Vinegarymass911 (talk) 10:09, 12 June 2014 (UTC))Reply

The 1st person in Bangladesh to climb Everest?

edit

Recently his Everest topping has been questioned. I think information about this controversy and his rejection of this allegation should be added in the article in neutral tone. Here are some refs:

'Nepal Parbat' however, said MA Muhith and Nishat Majumder were the first male and female from Bangladesh to have climbed Mt Everest successfully. The publication, 'Nepal Parbat' is brought out by the country's tourism ministry and the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA).[9]. For note, Nepal Parbat listed those climbers only who did their summit through Nepal side. Musa Ibrahim did his summit through Tibet side. Those who did their summit hrough Tibet side were not included in 'Nepal Parbat'. If you really want to mention about this dispute, which was actually created by a group in Bangladesh with some "purpose", please put it separate heading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.202.200.132 (talk) 15:35, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

@196.202.200.132: This does not allow you to arbitrarily (and very messily here) delete text and sources, especially without an edit summary, esp. one pointing to this discussion. I have reverted manually your edit. 220 of Borg 19:39, 27 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
