Merge with Bethel Woods article?
editSince the museum is part of the Bethel Woods performing arts center, I can't see any reason to keep this an independent article. Any objection to merging it with Bethel Woods? --JohnnyB256 (talk) 18:52, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- Do you think the museum content would overwhelm the rest fo the article? StarM 02:21, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- No, because this article consists of only four paragraphs, which can be condensed. --JohnnyB256 (talk) 13:18, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I started this because it was a redlink. I have no particular affinity for it or its continued existence. Would love input from others involved before merge is done though. Actually going to list it at WP:Museums too. StarM 01:19, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- Sure, I think more opinions would be great. My feeling was simply that the museum was an essential part of Bethel Woods, and you couldn't really separate it out. Take out the museum and all you have is the grounds, which are pretty I admit, and of course the performing arts pavilion. See what I mean? --JohnnyB256 (talk) 01:22, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- Very true. Can't remember exactly what the state of the parent article was when I created it, or maybe I didn't realise how closely tied the two were. I've also just chopped a hunk out of the parent, because there's no way it's encyclopedic to list performances. Going to be on and off line in coming days and weeks - so my official "vote" is I'm fine either way. Would suggest preserving this as a redirect because it's a likely search term. - I personally think it's fine as a separate article. It's clearly notable enough, and if all the content was merged into the main article, the museum would likely have undue weight. –Juliancolton | Talk 16:59, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- Since we don't seem to have a consensus I'll put it up for deletion, just to get some broader views on this. --JohnnyB256 (talk) 15:48, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
I've merged as per the outcome of the AfD. Not sure what happens to talk pages in such situations.
Just to clarify my intent: I wasn't seeking to delete this article but to merge it. This is a notable museum, but I felt it belonged in Bethel Woods, and we couldn't reach a consensus on merger. --JohnnyB256 (talk) 18:49, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
