American Pie: single

Since American Pie is released as a single, and is available on all the copies of "Music" except on those sold in North-America, I think it is only fair to to say that this was her first single (a single that just happened to be not included on the North-American copies), not to mention technically correct. Robster1983 (talk) 15:14, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Wrong. "American Pie" was later included in the Music album as an album track. It was released as a single from The Next Best Thing soundtrack. Please see a similar consensus on the Britney song "Radar", which was included on both her albums blackout and Circus, but was actually released as a single from Circus. — Legolas (talk2me) 03:57, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
I don't think you can compare these two examples, really. 'Radar' was a song on bóth albums. Later it was released as a single. Since that single is on both albums, but Britney was in her 'Circus-era, of course it counts as a single of 'Circus' instead of 'Blackout'. It's already on that album! So difference: on 'Blackout' it was a song, but on 'Circus' it turned out to be a single. In this case, the cd ('Music') had 'American Pie' included on its tracklist from the beginning of being sold (except in North-America), so it's not that they suddenly decided to rerelease the album with a new bonustrack (being 'American Pie'). There are even two videos; none showing footage from the film that was to be promoted. I reckon that if this song was included on the North-American editions as well, than it would be called a single of 'Music', no doubt about it (or at least a single of 'Music' ánd of the OST). You are essentially saying the same thing as me. A single, later being added to the tracklist of another album doesnot make it a single from that album. If Lady Gaga were to add her song "Poker Face" to her upcoming third album, that won't make it a single from that album. Its simple as that. This discussion is over. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:05, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Impressive Instant: Genre?

Does anyone know the genre for "Impressive Instant"? - Cherryguy93 (talk) 08:13, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Accolades

Maybe we can remove the last paragraph from reception and make a new section, naming it accolades. And also include it's on of the best albums of 2000s at number 31. http://www.slantmagazine.com/music/feature/best-of-the-aughts-albums/215/page_7 --Thefaithmonster1 (talk) 07:18, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Chart tables for the singles – included or not?

Hi folks. As my edit was reverted,[1] I'd like to seriously discuss the inclusion of the chart tables for the singles. I do get the point, it's a nice little summary, but it does not belong here. You should summarize the success (or failure) in some section named "singles" as the article deals with the whole album and the focus is not on those info tidbits (the singles' peak positions in Australia or New Zealand). Besides, the discography page lists all of the singles as well. To put it clearly: the focus of the article gets blurred if you add every possible detail. -- Puisque (talk) 03:21, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Sam Cooke?

<< "Music" was originally sung by Sam Cooke and titled "having a party". Although different, it is the exact same song but Madonna never gave him credit. >>

What is this? What does it mean that it's different but exactly the same? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mjshulman (talkcontribs) 22:48, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

"Country style"

@Chrishonduras: You mean "Nunca el look country había sido tan bien recibido"? That's an awfully thin justification for the statement "The country style became popular again in the mainstream culture with Madonna." I see nothing else in the cited article that supports that statement. General Ization Talk 20:19, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

@General Ization: Okay, there is not specific. I will remove this statement and I will find my source in my "Madonna's Library" that I have and I saw (I think that is an academic english source). Thanks Chrishonduras (talk) 20:22, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
