Sample

edit

Anybody have any idea as to what the sample in this song is, Its definitely well hidden, but I'm sure as it was such a big song there must of been some coverage of it because of legal reasons. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.96.37.34 (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unsourced

This song was originally an unreleased duet between Usher and a demo singer that was supposed to appear on the original Confessions album. The demo singer was rumored to be Beyoncé Knowles, but fans quickly proved that the vocals were drastically different, but it could possibly be Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles. There was even a 'casting demo' of Usher singing with both Alicia & the unknown singer on trial to see who should be Usher's duet partner, and both candidates brought different lyrics. When they decided to release the song, the version with Alicia's vocal's was chosen. The version with Usher and the demo singer was leaked to a Tapemasters Inc. Mixtape in summer of 2004.

At one point in mid-October 2004, "My Boo" was the twelfth most-searched-for music term on the Yahoo! search engine's Buzz Index. --Efe (talk) 08:48, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good article nomination on hold

edit

This article's Good Article promotion has been put on hold. During review, some issues were discovered that can be resolved without a major re-write. This is how the article, as of March 12, 2008, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?:  Y Pass. Generally well written.
2. Factually accurate?:  Y Pass. Well referenced.
3. Broad in coverage?:  N The reception section does not give a wide-ranging analysis from multiple music critics. It has one view from one website. This needs to be expanded with more quotes from reviews on other notable websites (including references) to prove it received mixed reviews.
Ok; reviews for this song are limited. I'll try. --Efe (talk) 00:46, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've added one review from Rolling Stone. --Efe (talk) 01:27, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
4. Neutral point of view?:  Y Pass. Fair representation without bias.
5. Article stability?  Y Pass. No edit wars etc.
6. Images?:  Y Pass. Both images have complete fair use rationales and appropriate captions.

Please address these matters soon and then leave a note here showing how they have been resolved, and leave a message on my talk page. After 48 hours the article should be reviewed again. If these issues are not addressed within 7 days, the article may be failed without further notice. Thank you for your work so far. - Guerilla In Tha Mist (talk) 19:38, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok, the article seems good to pass, although I think more evaluations from critics would help it significantly, but I do understand that there are few reviews avaliable at this time. Well done for all your work on the article. Thanks. - Guerilla In Tha Mist (talk) 13:59, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
