Lead
editthat was written by
→ "that was" is not necessary DoneDecember 18, 2013 to
→ add a comma: "December 18, 2013, to" DoneIt received several accolades across Asia; Jun won the Daesang (Grand Prize), the highest award for Korean television, at the Baeksang Arts Awards and the SBS Drama Awards, as did Kim at the Korea Drama Awards.
→ I'm a bit confused; is this award at both ceremonies? Also, these seem to only be South Korean awards, not "across Asia"?
- Yes, in South Korea, every award ceremony has an award/category named Daesang (transl. Grand Prize); it is the highest honour at the ceremony and can be awarded to a director, screenwriter, actor or even to a film/television series.
- See My Love from the Star#Awards and nominations, it has been awarded in China and Japan also; but yes I feel we can't say Asia for China and Japan. So I had changed it to → It received several accolades; Jun Ji-hyun won the Daesang (Grand Prize), the highest award for Korean television, at the Baeksang Arts Awards and the SBS Drama Awards, as did Kim Soo-hyun at the Korea Drama Awards. Hope it helps. Any suggestions? -ink&fables «talk» 09:21, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- consider adding {{TOC limit|3}} below the last paragraph of the lead so the 4th level subheadings for all the supporting cast families don't clutter the table of contents, as they aren't super important to show. Done
Synopsis
editwho is frequently cast in a supporting roles
→ "who is frequently cast in a supporting role" or "who is frequently cast in supporting roles" Done- what specifically is being cited with ref 1?
- Ref. 1 was already there before I started to edit this article in order to prepare for GAN. I guess it was added by an editor during its first GA review. The earlier reviewer had asked for it. I don't feel the necessity but I am happy even if it is there for verification of the entire synopsis. -ink&fables «talk» 09:21, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
Cast
edit- who is Seo Yi-hwa?
- Seo Yi-hwa is the girl whom Do Min-joon saves from falling off a cliff and misses his return trip to his home planet. Earlier, the complete name was not written in the synopsis, its there now. I hope this will help. -ink&fables «talk» 09:21, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- consider adding the "translator-last=" and "translater-first=" parameters to ref 3 as a translator is credited. Done
- per MOS:TVCAST, "The cast listing should not contain an episode count, e.g. (6 episodes) or (episodes 1–6), to indicate the number of episodes in which the actor or character appeared" Done
Production
edit- Choi Moon-suk is not mentioned in ref 28
- Yes; it is not mentioned in the reference and I couldn't not find any reliable source stating anything about Choi Moon-suk. Only reliable source is the official site of the drama. And as the link to the official site is already mentioned in the infobox and External links, I have only provided the url next to the ref. 28 which is masked. See. Any direction/suggestion? -ink&fables «talk» 09:21, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- ref 28 mentions Moon Bo-Mi and Park Ji-Eun as the show's creators; is this important to mention in the article?
- No; Moon Bo-mi is the CEO of HB Entertainment while Park Ji-eun is the screenwriter; it is already specified in the article, so mentioning them as shows creators is almost synonyms to their particular role in the the production of the series. -ink&fables «talk» 09:21, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
the media reported
→ maybe just "media reported" Done- why are the character names in the last sentence of the second paragraph italicized?
- It was done with an intention to highlight as the name of characters. It's de-emphasized now. -ink&fables «talk» 09:21, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- is there any other source that provides an explanation for the internal situation which cast Park as the younger brother?
- Yes; I found a reliable source, I have added the information/content. You can see and review it. -ink&fables «talk» 09:21, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
early November, 2013
→ comma unnecessary Done
to produce a television series in South Korea
→ the source only says for a drama, not a series Done
Soundtrack
edit- ref 35 does not indicate it is in Korean; also needs translated title. Done
- Tracklist should be a level 4 sudbheading, not bolded. Done
- use the headline= parameter in the track listing template, not ";CD1" and ";CD2" Done
Various Artists
→ Various artists DoneComposed by Jeon Chang-yeop and Jin Myeongyong; Choe Changguk contributed to track No. 3, 9, 10 and 19.
→ This doesn't need to be in small text. Also, what does "contributed" mean in this scenario?
- Done; By the statement: Choe Changguk contributed to track No. 3, 9, 10 and 19; I meant that Choe Changguk also composed the tracks along with the other two composers but only to the track No. 3, 9, 10 and 19. I have made few changes by adding an efn to avoid any confusion, please review it. -ink&fables «talk» 09:21, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- I don't think you're supposed to include references in headings; I would move ref 39 to after ref 36. Done
- I don't know if this is done throughout Korean TV show articles, but the singles could be better shown as part of the album infobox (see Template:Infobox album for instructions). For example, most music album articles do not have a tracklist section specifically for singles. Additionally, the No. 2 songs are not really that notable to be listed.
- Yes; it has been done like this, probably in most of the Korean Television Dramas related articles. I was also confused about this. I even asked this at the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums. You can see it here. -ink&fables «talk» 11:00, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
Singles from the series were released in parts (1-8) from December 2013 to February 2014 and a Special OST — Promise sung by Kim Soo-hyun was released on March 13, 2014. Kim Soo-hyun also
→ suggest changing to "Singles included on the album were released from December 2013 to February 2014, and a special standalone single from the series sung by KIm Soo-hyun was released on March 13, 2014. Kim also ... both of his covers ... " Doneby the audience
→ be more specific
- How?; You want me to include songs rankings on the charts. -ink&fables «talk» 11:00, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
All of the songs from the soundtrack of My Love from the Star
→ All of the soundtrack's songs DoneLyn's sountrack single My Destiny was ranked at number two on the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard's K-pop Hot 100
→ not in ref 42. Also correct the spelling to "soundtrack", and I don't think singles are supposed to be italicized; it's just quotation marks. Donewas ranked at number two on the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard's K-pop Hot 100; she received a special award for the Best Original Soundtrack at the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards.
→ suggest changing to "peaked at number two on the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard{{'}}s K-pop Hot 100. She later received the Best Original Soundtrack award at the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards for the song." Done
Broadcast and viewership
editit was the most-watched television program of its time slot from December 18, 2013
→ is this only referring to the final episode? the source says "28.1%" at the end of the sentence
- Removed the statement to avoid any confusion. -ink&fables «talk» 10:47, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- I added the statement back. I confirmed it here:[1] -ink&fables «talk» 18:12, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- Removed the statement to avoid any confusion. -ink&fables «talk» 10:47, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- Is there any reason why hancinema is being cited instead of the original sources which are listed at the bottom of the page? It is usually better to link to the original sources.
- Largely because HanCinema's articles are in English and the original sources are in Korean. If you'll direct me to use main sources, I'm happy to do so. -ink&fables «talk» 10:47, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
beating the Olympics broadcast
→ I'm not sure this is what the source is saying. I think it's about how it ranked first in its time slot despite being moved to a different time slot because of the Olympics, not that it beat the Olympics.
- Done, removed the statement. -ink&fables «talk» 10:47, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- If you don't mind I can make an edit to the table to make it sortable/standardized. All the info will remain the same, except it will be more accessible and there will be no need for colour as it can be sortable. The table as it is now is not really acceptable.
- Sure, Thank you! -ink&fables «talk» 10:47, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- Can TNmS be defined/given a definition/linked? Done Added an efn. -ink&fables «talk» 10:47, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
International broadcast
edit- Wall Street Journal url-access=subscription Done
it was exported to nearly 20 countries, including China, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Israel, and Belgium
→ this is too close of a paraphrasing
- Done I changed it to → .....; later, it was exported to nearly twenty countries. -ink&fables «talk» 10:00, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
Reception
editIt was the fifth most-watched television program of 2014 in South Korea
→ I believe this is just referring to single broadcasts (the finale only, which had 28.1%). This could be moved to the previous section. DoneAGB Nielsen Media Research
→ this is already linked in an earlier text
- Done, rmv wikilink
In an op-ed piece published by the China Daily, writer Xiao Lixin attributed the program's success to "great innovations in South Korean TV productions in terms of themes and narrative patterns", praised the plot as "logical and fast-paced", and interspersed with "whimsy and romantic punch lines", and write "high-speed photography and computer-generated effects" help "create a lifelike visual impact".
→ this sentence is too long
- Done, divided into two. -ink&fables «talk» 12:14, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
Yonhap
→ Yonhap News Agency DoneA year-end poll that Gallup Korea conducted in 13 countries
→ it was conducted with people over the age of 13, not in 13 countries Done- with only three reviews, the critical response section is a bit lacking. is there nothing more?
- There were two more reviews but they were from Global Times (GT) and since GT is a depracted source, so we can't use them. I guess there is no more reviews in English media, I'll try to find few in Korean media. -ink&fables «talk» 12:14, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
"ssi", which Jun Ji-hyun adds after male protagonist's name, became the most-discussed word
→ I'm confused; what does this mean?
- I have added the exact Korean word "시" and an efn to avoid any confusion. -ink&fables «talk» 12:14, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
Out of its sixty-eight nominations, the show and its cast won thirty-nine accolades.
→ source?
- rmv as I they were just counted from List of awards and nominations received by My Love from the Star -ink&fables «talk» 12:14, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
Adaptations/plagiarism suit
edit- any update on American adaptation? Right now the reader doesn't know if it was ever released or not.
- No; there is no update.
- can you make it so the SBS Contents Hub doesn't need to be a blockquote. It's a bit excessive for just an ordinary response to a lawsuit I think Done
it began airing again in June 2014
- when did it start?
- I mentioned the month in the very first line of the paragraph. -ink&fables «talk» 13:14, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
Etc.
edit- Jung Min-gyun from infobox – where are they cited?
- I mentioned his name in Production with a citation. -ink&fables «talk» 13:10, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
- convert the hidden note with ref 28 into a reference; the external links don't count as citations Done
Moon Bo-mi is the CEO of HB Entertainment while Park Ji-eun is the screenwriter; it is already specified in the article, so mentioning them as shows creators is almost synonyms to their particular role in the the production of the series
- I would still list them as the creators in the infobox; it's a bit weird for one to lack info about who created the show Done- Just going back to the singles section. In my opinion, listing every track listing is a bit excessive information. The main songs could be put as singles in the infobox, as it is done on Parasite. I think the editor who responded was referring to the section placement within the article, not the section organization itself. This may be done in many Korean articles, but it's not really proper. There's not supposed to be that much collapsed information per MOS:COLLAPSE.
- Done; please review it. -ink&fables «talk» 13:10, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

I haven't watched the show and don't speak Korean so this is coming from a complete outside perspective; please forgive me if I misunderstand anything. The synopsis section in particular is extremely good. I could understand everything and it sounded interesting too, which is great. Heartfox (talk) 18:50, 31 December 2020 (UTC)

- @-ink&fables: I believe these are my final comments above :) I also edited the table. Heartfox (talk) 07:00, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
Okay, the dates in the first infobox use the DMY format, yet the dates elsewhere in the article are in MDY format. Why the different formats? Jim856796 (talk) 02:46, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
- I changed the date format to MDY format for the entire article to make it same as other Korean television drama related articles. -ink&fables «talk» 04:20, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
