Meaning of the Song

Steely Dan's lyrics were often mysterious, and I think it would be helpful if someone could elaborate the claim that this song tells the story of a drug raid at Bard College. I followed the link in the external links section to the metrolyrics page for the song, and discovered that the song includes no reference to a "raid," or a "bust," or any other thing that might convey this idea. The lyrics do, I believe, allude to someone's encounter with the "county jail" and the "working girls" there, and do include the line, "I heard about the whole affair," but that certainly doesn't say "G. Gordon Liddy drug-sweep" to me. Perhaps the story is told in code? Will anyone clarify? Also, if it is in code, I wonder why? Adam Buxton once pointed out (hilariously) the hypocrisy of Grace Jones' audacious image given her veiled, coded references to sex in the song "Pull Up to the Bumper". I think the same applies to Steely Dan (?) given Fagan and Becker's famous iconoclasm. Cellodont (talk)
