Friend Codes
editAre we allowed to advertise our friend codes or no? (Even though I already have 18 pages of friends :/)
I figured I would ask before I posted mine so I wouldn't get in trouble. Please reply ASAP!
[[User:Emeraldcreeper99|Emerald]] ([[Usertalk:Emeraldcreeper99|If you can give me tips, please do so here]]) (talk) 17:25, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- Obviously not. This is not My Singing Monsters Wiki. Please use a different website to request your friend requests. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 07:16, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
- To be exact, Wikipedia is not a place to share in-game content. Remember, this is a general encyclopedia wiki, not a gaming wiki. You could try My Singing Monsters Wiki instead though. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 07:18, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
Different pages
editMy singing monsters is a Franchise and it should be spilt because it is not a name of a company. It sounds like it is So I think there should be separate pages.89.242.113.176 (talk) 17:19, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
- I don't think the game itself has enough notability to be split from the franchise. Only with those two together can both of their content be kept enough such that it meets Wikipedia's general notability guidelines. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 01:41, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
Edits
editDid my edits for the "List of Monsters" go through? When I tryed the "View Changes" page, it didn't show the edits. I did it twice, and it still didn't show up. Is this a bug? Stary90 (talk) 03:31, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
- It is not a bug. I reverted it because a list of monsters does not fit Wikipedia's guidelines, more specifically the one stating that Wikipedia is not a game guide but more like an encyclopedia. It would fit better on fan sites like My Singing Monsters Wiki, however. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 03:59, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
I am currently working on a more professionally formatted list of characters from the game, if that helps. Wubbox (talk) 16:44, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
My Singing Monsters: Fandemonium page
editShould we make a page for the TV show or just wait till they announce the air date? It's coming some point in 2021. Stary90 (talk) 21:03, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
- Once a reliable source for My Singing Monsters: Fandemonium appears, you should put it under My Singing Monsters, as the TV Show itself might not have enough notability to be a separate article. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 23:37, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
My Singing Monsters: Composer
editI made a My Singing Monsters: Composer section because it wasn't here when I visted the article. Should I remove the section? It's not really a thing to put anyways, since it's just like the Composer Island. Should I improve it or remove it? Stary90 (talk) 04:41, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
Actually, never mind. Someone improved it. Stary90 (talk) 21:17, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
We should make the MSM Fandemonium page now
editSomeone told me that MSM Fandemonium will come out in a week. I think it's coming out this week, but I'm not sure. I think we should make a page for the TV show. Stary90 (talk) 03:07, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
Just so there aren't any mistakes in the article, Fandemonium is not the same thing as the TV show. Fandemonium is a live-streamed event by Big Blue Bubble. The TV show being made by Wind Sun Sky isn't out yet and is completely separate from Fandemonium. Just thought I'd clear that up. Wubbox (talk) 16:24, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
Citations
editI think one of the main problems with the article is lack of citations, since almost no info about MSM is online, anywhere else but the Fandom wiki. Wikipedia won't let you cite anything on Fandom, so any good sources would be much appreciated. More screenshots would help too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wubbox (talk • contribs) 16:40, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
I think the main reason why we can't find a lot citations is because MSM isn't that popular like Pokémon. Yeah sure, it might have 10 million downloads on the app store, but it's not that popular anywhere. It's only popular on Youtube. The TV show just started running, so maybe it will get popular soon. And I think we only need 1 screenshot. We need one for the DOF section. Stary90 (talk) 22:46, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
We probably need an updated screenshot for the gameplay section, since there's a super outdated one on there now. Somebody had the absolute 10 billion IQ idea of just saying it was outdated rather than putting a new screenshot in. I would just do a screenshot of my own game but my islands are arranged pretty weird and it wouldn't make a good reference for people who know nothing about the game. Some pictures of the monsters would probably help too, just like the PNGs of a few recognizable ones (Mammot, PomPom, Wubbox, Ghazt for example), it would help non-players understand the game better. It would maybe even help to finally get the article off of stub class if we do things like that. I also found out that Wikipedia lets us use MSMpokegamer's website as a reference if that helps. I've used it a few times already. Wubbox (talk) 15:30, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
I don't think we need pictures of the Monsters. All we need is a updated picture for the gameplay section and a picture for Dawn of Fire section. Stary90 (talk) 18:46, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
We're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. Most every other video game article has pictures galore of their characters 13:13, 29 March 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wubbox (talk • contribs)
Because there either List of _____ or a page of a species from a game. I don't think we need a picture of a monster. Pages like Super Mario Bros., Clash of Clans, and Club Penguin dosen't inculde pictures of charathers form games. Just logos and screenshots. Stary90 (talk) 19:56, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
Still, this article is about My Singing Monsters. Not a lot of people know about it, and if they read the article and there's never a picture of a monster, they'll be thinking "okay, but what are the monsters?" They're so integral to the game, the whole reason for the title, so I think it would be neglectful to NOT put any pictures of the things the entire game is centered around. Pages like super Mario don't need pictures of Mario, because everyone who isn't a hermit from the mountains knows what Mario looks like, and clash of clans' characters aren't the driving force of the game. MSM is entirely centered around the monsters, so not having any pictures of them would be super confusing and neglectful, especially to someone who's never played (*ahem* the mods *ahem*), which is integral if we ever want to get this out of stub. Wubbox (talk) 14:04, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
Well we don't need a picture of Ghazt because the screenshot before September 2016 already has Ghazt in it. We can use other Monsters that aren't in the game screenshot. And btw, this page has been a stub since this page was made in 2013 because we need to add more detailed criteria. So, if we add more detailed criteria, we will get the stub gone and we will go to start. We need to expand this article longer so that the stub will be gone, but I doubt that will happen, since this page never got a lot of edits a day. And for the low thing, this article lists cover very specific or obscure knowledge. So if we try to improve this article and add more cations, (if they ever come), the stub and low will be gone. Stary90 (talk) 21:14, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
I think I know how to get this to Start
editI think we need to add a development, music, and maybe a setting section. Stary90 (talk) 21:14, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
I was thinking maybe putting in an audio file of plant island in a Music section Wubbox (talk) 13:04, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
Make sure to read this, this, and this before you do. Also, make sure that you make the audio short because I don't think the audio can be that long. A example is Pokémon Theme. 🍓⋆Stary90♡🍧 (talk) 15:52, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
Anything else we can add?
editI am still thinking how to get this to Start, but I don't have any ideas. Anyone else know how to get any ideas to get this article to start? 🍓⋆Stary90♡🍧 (talk) 22:26, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
Actually, the only thing that needs expansion is the repection section and we also need to add more reliable sources, so maybe instead of taking refs form there site, we can get this to Start class! 🍓⋆Stary90♡🍧 (talk) 14:09, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
MSM: The board game
editShould we make a article for the MSM board game when it comes out? Some board games here have there own articles. 🍓⋆Stary90♡🍧 (talk) 01:28, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
- Absolutely. Also add a reliable source once the board game comes. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 01:34, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Woah, that was fast. Okay, thanks! 🍓⋆Stary90♡🍧 (talk) 01:36, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
MSMP
editI'll add a ref for MSMP later since I found a ref recently. 🍓⋆Stary90♡🍧 (talk) 21:49, 13 May 2021 (UTC) OK, got 2 refs in the article. 🍓⋆Stary90♡🍧 (talk) 23:03, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
How is this article still a stub
editHow is this article still a stub? It's been a stub since 2013. And this page doesn't even look like a stub anymore. 🍓⋆Stary90♡🍧 (talk) 02:36, 16 May 2021 (UTC) I just changed the ranking to Start because I expanded the Reception section. 🍓⋆Stary90♡🍧 (talk) 02:58, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, it used to be a stub because it was previously severely incomplete. Somehow it wasn't changed for a long while. Now the article looks pretty good. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 09:30, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
Kayna's Map
editOn the MSM Wiki, there's a page on there that has a game called Kayna's Map. I'm guessing it's a spin-off game because it's a puzzle game. Was that game an official game by BBB or a fan-made game? 🎧⋆Stary90♡🎶 (talk) 20:19, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
I've never heard of it, and it's not anywhere on Big Blue Bubble's website, so it's definitely not an official game. As far as I know, the only spin-off games released since Kayna's introduction are DOF and Playground. Kayna's Map could be a minigame in Playground, i would have to do more research. Wubbox (talk) 18:55, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
Update: it was just a puzzle that BBB put out on social media to tease the release of DOF. Not important enough to include on the article. Wubbox (talk) 18:56, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
The MSM TV Show
editThe MSM TV Show has not come out yet, but it's still on the article. Someone said that it might come out this month but idk if it would actually come out this month. Should we remove 'Untitled My Singing Monsters animated TV series" from the Animated series in the Films and television section in the infobox or just leave it there? It's been there for a long time now, and I haven't seen any updates on TSM. 🎧⋆Stary90♡🎶 (talk) 23:28, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
Edit: The MSM TV Show just got canceled. I still don't know if this is true or not. Stil waiting for a source. 🎧⋆Stary90♡🎶 (talk) 00:49, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
Wow....
editThat had to be the most one of vandals I've ever seen. Some of the vandalism were not removed tho, so I removed them. 🎧⋆Stary90♡🎶 (talk) 14:56, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
DoF picture
editShould we add a photo of gameplay in Dawn of Fire? Because if there's an entire section on the game, it should have a picture too. Sincerely, CertifiedAmazing2 (talk) 22:51, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
@CertifiedAmazing2: yes. We need a picture for the DOF since there was no image of it since the section was made. We also need an updated picture for the MSM section. 🦁⋆Stary90♡🦌 (talk) 21:13, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Oh holy heck, we DEFINITELY need a new picture for the regular game, that one is from the time I started playing (Yep I'm an OG)! How come it hasn't been changed? Sincerely, CertifiedAmazing2 wanna chat? 22:39, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
@CertifiedAmazing2:(Sorry for the late reply). I have no idea. I play MSM and DOF but I stopped playing MSM for some reason then after a few months I lost interest in MSM and stopped playing DOF. I might be able to upload a picture for DOF. Someone else will have to upload a new picture for the MSM section. 🦁⋆Stary90♡🦌 (talk) 23:10, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
Cancelled TV show
editThe MSM TV show is still in the article despite the fact that it got canceled. The article doesn't say anywhere that the TV show got canceled. Is there a source saying that the TV show has been canceled or should I just put that the TV show got canceled? 🦁⋆Stary90♡🦌 (talk) 14:46, 24 April 2022 (UTC)

You probably won't see this, but we're not adding breeding combinations of Monsters. Wikipedia is not a game guide. However, you can see breeding combinations from an MSM Wiki page here. 🦁⋆Stary90♡🦌 (talk) 01:52, 9 January 2023 (UTC)

Could we change "like" to "such as" in a few spots? This way, it sounds more professional. SoupBoot (talk) 18:26, 7 January 2023 (UTC) '
- I'm not that advanced, but sure. I'll replace "like" to "such as" in a few places of the article.
Incorrect information
editReading through this, it says here that the Continent as seen in the prequel game, My Singing Monsters: Dawn of Fire, was formed similarly to Pangaea. I happen to be aware that this is not how it was created, and it is a landmass directly created by the Colossals, who can best be described as this game's gods. If proof is needed, I have supplied a link to the wiki page, which has a complete document of the lore of the game. Just scroll down to the sub-heading Creation. Board Game Ref
editI was trying to use the ref name on the MSM:TBG ref, but it was always saying that it was an error and I started to get tired of it, so I just removed the old ref that wasn't working. Is my singing monsters from Japan
editIts from Japan 82.170.6.137 (talk) 15:42, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
- My Singing Monsters isn't made in Japan. It is made in Canada because Big Blue Bubble, the makers of the game, are located in Canada. However, MSM may be translated into more languages, so it's possible for a Japanese version of MSM to be made. ⭐⋆Stary90⋆⭐ (talk) 02:33, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
Outdated Notable Collaborations Section
editIt has been 2 years since it was announced that Those Singing Monsters was cancelled and would no longer be working on. The Notable Collaborations section is now outdated as not only the section mentions that TSM was cancelled, a Canadian band called Walk off the Earth I believe made their own remix of Plant Island last year and this year BBB had a Collab with MonsterCat recently this month about releasing the SummerSong 2023 Party Album, as well as some TV show host that hosted a show that I don't remember what name it was visiting BBB studios to see how a Monster was made. I do know that the official MSM Twitter account made a post in Dec 2021 saying that the TV show was cancelled, but I don't think Twitter post are reliable sources. Don't know if the Walk off the Earth Plant Island remix, the SummerSong 2023 Party Album, and the special TV show host guest visit have reliable sources to be put in the Notable collaborations section through. There's probably more to this but these are the only collaborations with BBB I remember so far. ⭐⋆Stary90⋆⭐ (talk) 17:49, 22 July 2023 (UTC)

editSomebody PLEASE Make a new section that has the full list of monsters. Should be updated when a new monster comes out 188.25.18.110 (talk) 15:21, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- This has been added before multiple times but has been removed because it isn't suitable for Wikipedia. See WP:NOTGUIDE. The MSM Wiki is more suitable for this, as they already have a page listing the Monsters there. ⭐⋆Stary90⋆⭐ (talk) 03:01, 15 October 2023 (UTC)

Mentioning Seasonal Events in the DOF Section
editA new update came out in DOF today which debuts Spooktale Junior and it features Baby Punkleton in it. However, I haven't found any available cations so far to reference in the article. I'm thinking of adding the information to the article and then adding the cation needed template next to it as a placeholder for now until a source is found. ⋆Stary90⋆ (talk) 20:37, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
Update: Changed the header since Festival of Yay Junior was added today. The page still needs a source for the Seasonal Events through. ⋆Stary90⋆ (talk) 01:28, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
Canadian Date Format?
editSince MSM is from Canada and the template at the top of the talk page says the article should be written in Canadian English, shouldn't the article also use the Canadian date format (Y/M/D)? ⋆Stary90⋆ (talk) 02:28, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
Shouldn't there be an islands tab???
editI feel like this would be helpful for people to see what islands are in the game (Ps I'm a big my singing monsters fan) 90.214.152.236 (talk) 18:34, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- @everyone please let me now 90.214.152.236 (talk) 18:37, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- This has been added before but it has been deleted as it was uncited and trivial. Just like List of Monsters being added onto the page, a islands tab would be more suitable for the MSM Wiki, and they already have a page listing the islands in the game there. Additionally, while all the islands aren't mentioned, some islands are mentioned under the My Singing Monsters section. ⋆Stary90⋆ (talk) 21:02, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

editMultiple attempts (not by me) to include fairly basic content has been rejected, with the reason provided as 'more suitable for MSM wiki', but all attempts to include said wiki as a link have also been rejected, with WP:ELNO cited; however, that page states "[do not include] Open wikis, except those with a substantial history of stability and a substantial number of editors"; criteria which MSM wiki meets. MSM wiki link, original editor
editI believe I may be the user that originally added the external link to the MSM Wiki. I am both delighted and only very slightly ashamed that I have caused an edit war. Now that I am no longer 15 years old, as I was when I made the original edits, I can look back on the decision with the hindsight of a soon-to-be college freshman. I can now say that I agree with other users in that it meets the ELNO requirements for inclusion, and should not be removed. Gastly12345 (talk) 03:43, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
