Scientist
editOne comment on a small detail. That he has a Ph D doesn't qualify him for a scientists cat. He needs to establish notability as a scientist as he did as a Politician. Would he have been just a scientist, he would hardly qualify for a Wikipedia article based purely on his schientific notability. Not every Ph. D. has an article in Wikipedia. The fact that he holds a degree is worthy to be mentioned of course. But he rightfully belongs only to Ukrainian politicans cat as I see it. It is the same as to add category:Beekeeping to the Yushchenko article simply because beekeeping is VAYu's hobby. --Irpen 02:56, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
- History is a science; political science (politology) is a science. And, Tomenko is well established professional in politology and history. He was appointed as a decan of Political Science Department of Kyiv Mohyla Academy. Also, "Томенко є автором підручника "Основи теорії і політики" і книг "Історія української Конституції" та "Абетки української політики". [1]. His current publications are available form the website of his institute. Taking into account all of this, while Tomenko is not a rocket scientists, I think he still qualifies for a scientist category. KPbIC 04:15, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
OK, a head of department settles it for now. It was not clear from the initial version of the article as the article failed to mention what makes him a scientist and UP article I read about him was rather sarcastic about him being a "scientific guy". As long as his scientific credentials are established within the article itself, as they are now, I am fine with the scientist cat. --Irpen 04:41, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
