Talk:Mythos (video game)
Hi,
the link to the german version does not link to the german article about Mythos (which doesn't even exist), but to the german article about Flagship Studios.
I have no idea how to change this, though :). Just noticed it while browsing.
The article could use more information about the release date and system requirements. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.156.65.123 (talk) 00:08, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Item Mall
editThe creators said they are planning to monetise Mythos by installing an item mall in the game to allow players to buy gear to spend real world money to buy things which will help them in the game, it won't be the best stuff but it will help them find the best stuff. They compared this to the horror that is the asian in game item malls. The link is here: http://mythos.incgamers.com/. 122.104.164.193 (talk) 00:57, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Mythos died
editSince Flagship Studios is for all intents and purposes defunct (while technically they are still around, they only have 2 employees left and are going out of business). Also the official Mythos website is now down and while Flagship Studios claims that "We still own intellectually property rights to Hellgate: London and Mythos, we fired everyone who is working on Mythos".--4.244.21.239 (talk) 23:29, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not going to get into a back and forth edit war on this, but this reference you're providing: [1] is in no way a reliable source. It's a post -- apparently by a fan -- on a free message board which doesn't actually appear to have any other posts on it. Now I agree the game is as good as canceled, unless someone else picks up development. However, I object to the statement that the game "was canceled on August 14, 2008." Where did that date come from? The date of the message board post? --Cornprone (talk) 12:45, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thats the day the official website went down with the message.--4.244.42.17 (talk) 20:00, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- Are you saying that there was a message on the official website (before it went down) that stated the game was canceled? If so, you'd think a gaming news site would have reported it. According to the most recent report I can find: [2], T3 Entertainment/HanbitSoft stated that they planned to take over development. --Cornprone (talk) 01:17, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
- They couldn't legally do that, Flagship Studios said that they still hold IP. Check the official Hellgate: London forums, they say that their company is still doing fine and they hold intellectual property for Hellgate: London and Mythos.--4.244.36.205 (talk) 03:55, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it seems both companies claim ownership of the IP. Regardless, we don't have an official statement nor a reliable source that says the game is canceled. We especially don't have anything that ties a cancellation to the date of August 14. Therefore that statement should be removed from the article. It's an assumption, not a fact. --Cornprone (talk) 04:49, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
- Well Flagship Studios is right, I mean it's their company and their game, where as the other is some Asian company that no one ever heard of comes out of nowhere and says "We developed Hellgate: London and Mythos, don't believe Flagship Studios, they are liars".--4.245.79.7 (talk) 17:52, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
HanbitSoft owsn the IP rights to this game now
editSo the article should be updated accordingly. [3]
