NCT (group)NCT (band)WP:CONSISTENT: the vast majority of articles at Category:South Korean boy bands use "band" as a disambiguator, not "group".

Additionally Wikipedia seems to have standardized around "boy band" instead of "boy group", and this article already follows that convention in its prose. Withdrawing request pending wider discussion on disambiguation consistency of South Korean boy bands as a whole RachelTensions (talk) 08:56, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose per WP:GROUPDAB as "[NCT] members do not perform by playing musical instruments, the members are mainly vocalists". Paper9oll (🔔📝) 08:59, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I just found WP:GROUPDAB and came in here to withdraw this RM just as you replied... I guess a bigger conversation needs to happen as to why 80 of the articles at Category:South Korean boy bands use "band" and only 22 use "group", despite "group" being the apparent designated disambiguator. (I know someone put forth a massive RM a few years ago but I don't think it went anywhere)
Given "band"'s wide use it seems like it has become the de facto naming convention for South Korean boy bands despite what WP:GROUPDAB says. RachelTensions (talk) 09:16, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
