editAs someone who isn't a health professional, I find this article quite hard to understand. I came here as part of my effort to understand what the various things called "trusts" are for in the NHS, and I am not a great deal wiser after reading this article. Is a Primary Care Trust a hospital? Is it a GP's surgery? GreenInker (talk) 07:03, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
Merger
editList of former PCTs is more helpful as a separate itemRathfelder (talk) 14:13, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- Agree, the list is long and a list; whereas this is an article, they should remain separate. Have removed merge tag. Have also left a 'seealso' tag in the article so that readers can travel to the list if so desired. LT910001 (talk) 07:37, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

NHS primary care trust → Primary care trust – WP:PRECISE - "NHS" is not part of the name "primary care trust", and has been added as unnecessary disambiguation. It should not be part of the article title. Mauls (talk) 14:23, 20 April 2020 (UTC)—Relisted. – Ammarpad (talk) 05:13, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose This article is not about the concept of primary care trusts, it is specifically about NHS primary care trusts as they existed. I think the NHS is an important part of the search term and should remain as is. MrAureliusRTalk! 22:50, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
- Comment: The article is about the concept of primary care trusts. All primary care trusts were NHS primary care trusts - they are the exact same thing. Hence why the "NHS" bit is unnecessary. Also, this is not a 'search term', it is an article title: searching for "NHS primary care trust" would still find the article. Mauls (talk) 08:28, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose – the article is about primary care trusts of the NHS, not generic primary care trusts. Precision is a good thing. The rationale that NHS is not part of the name is flimsy, since the title is descriptive, not a name, either way. Dicklyon (talk) 04:04, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
