Fair use rationale for Image:Ifd.png
editImage:Ifd.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:04, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Update
editPlease note that this page was significantly edited to update it with accurate information about the new league, but the edit history has been lost following less-than-constructive interventions by User:Matthew_hk. I have requested help to retrieve the accurate and up-to-date version of the page. Please be patient. Mooretwin (talk) 21:17, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Flag
editPlease read WP:ICONDECORATION. Flags are to be removed per Wikipedia policy.MITH 11:38, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- There is only one flag in this article, and it does not necessarily follow from that policy that it ought to be removed. Nonetheless, I see that similar articles on football leagues do not include a flag (although some do, e.g. Welsh Premier League. In the interests of consistency, therefore, it seems appropriate not to include it here. Perhaps you ought to have begun a discussion here sooner, rather than start an edit war? Will you also revert the flag at Welsh Premier League, and any others that you might find? Mooretwin (talk) 11:48, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- That is my intention. I gave a reason for the edit in my edit summary initially. Not every small little thing needs to go to the talk page.MITH 11:51, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- If it was your intention to remove the flag from the Welsh page, why did you not do so, but instead only do so on NI pages? Not every small thing needs to go to the Talk page, but it should have been obvious to you that discussion was necessary once your change was reverted. See how much easier things are when you discuss them? Mooretwin (talk) 12:35, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't do so as you were blank reverting all of my changes without giving a reason. My statement on this talk page is no different to my edit summary so I don't see how it made it easier other than the fact that you stop reverting all of a sudden.MITH 12:45, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- As noted above, and agreed by Canterbury Tail, your edit summary was insufficient, as the policy you cited doesn't mean that the flag here necessarily needs to go. The agreement to removing it is nothing to do with that policy. In any case, once you saw that your edit was controversial, you should have come here and not started and then perpetuated an edit war. Mooretwin (talk) 13:02, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- I see you didn't answer the question as to why you did not remove the flag from the Welsh page, but only on NI pages. Mooretwin (talk) 13:02, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- My answer is there in the first sentence of my reply above.MITH 13:07, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- It doesn't make sense as an answer to the question. Why didn't you also get rid of the Wales flag? Why would my reversion here stop you there, when it did not stop you at IFA Premiership? I suspect because your motivation for removing it was less to do with the policy you cited, and more to do with your objection to the flag per se. Mooretwin (talk) 13:19, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

- No all flags don't need to go, the flags guidelines don't say they can't be used. However, in this instance, I believe it should be removed as the flag involved is not the official flag of the country in question. The Ulster Banner is a contentious flag which no longer officially represents the country in question. Canterbury Tail talk 11:56, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- I agree.--Vintagekits (talk) 12:49, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- In football, it most certainly does represent the country in question: hence its use on NI football pages. Mooretwin (talk) 12:35, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

I have to say I didnt read this before re-adding the flag , and I stand by my addition. If flag use is inappropriate it should be removed from all league articles , Serie A and Premier League. The flag is used for the IFA international articles on Wiki and also by FIFA/UEFA [1].Murry1975 (talk) 14:57, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
