Ambiguity
Lower paragraph, last sentence: "but the [list of organizations] all recommend these except in cases of high risk"
What does "these" relate to - simple unrated surgical masks, or N95 ones? Please clarify ambiguity. Structure of sentence "but ..." implies N95. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.125.85.104 (talk) 22:58, 31 January 2020 (UTC)
Conflicting priorities
Surgical masks are primarily intended to protect the wearer from direct splashes and sprays of blood and bodily fluid but are primarily designed to prevent the release of aerosols from the wearer that may spread infection from that wearer to nearby individuals.
We might wish to clarify this a little bit as the N95 shortage descends.
