New Models - What Is CPU Type?

edit

There is speculation the new NOVO7 models, Aurora and Elf, might be ARM Cortex-A8 based, but I prefer proof from the manufacturer before stating it in the article. Please drop a link here to an OFFICIAL article. • SbmeirowTalk17:05, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

The processor may be in the Samsung Electronics Exynos family, such as the Exynos 4210 (1.2 or 1.4GHz) or Exynos 4212 (1.2 or 1.5GHz), especially since both have Mali-400 GPU. Since information and rumors have listed by 1.2GHz and 1.5GHz for the new NOVO7 products, then the Exynos 4212 might be it. Both are dual-core ARM Cortex-A9, instead of the rumored A8. These support DDR3, which is stated in the NOVO7 literature. • SbmeirowTalk18:23, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

The processor may also be in the ST-Ericsson NovaThor family, such as the NovaThor U8500 or NovaThor U9500, especially since both have Mali-400 GPU and 1080p. Both are dual-core ARM Cortex-A9, instead of the rumored A8. The reason these might not be the chips is both support only DDR2, instead of the DDR3 stated in the NOVO7 literature.

I still need final proof.

New Models - What Is CPU Speed?

edit

I'm not sure if the new models are 1.2 GHz or 1.5 GHz speed? Some specs say 1.2 Ghz, but others 1.5GHz. • SbmeirowTalk17:16, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
