Cleanup and out-of-date
editThis article needs an overhaul. There are two approaches: leave the sourced stuff in place from 2006-2008 even though it is non-encyclopedic, or cut the article down to the content that is either significant in an encyclopedic sense, or at least current. For example, the three months it was called "Alternext", I'd cut as not being important in a permanent sense. patsw (talk) 14:12, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- Completely missing is the period of time the AMEX was acquired by NASDAQ (in 1998) at the request of the SEC - AMEX was involved at the time in creating Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and NASDAQ wanted to launch the QQQ, but not on NASDAQ itself. [1] 108.82.248.203 (talk) 10:27, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Issues here
editIt seems to lean towards history rather than today. Lets ad more info on the AMEX today. Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) C 22:51, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
