I don't see that redirect is a problem. I don't change current Ukrainian name of a city, but historical name, when Lwów was a Polish city (where Polish was a most common spoken language and in administration) unfortunately occupied by Austria. (Majan (talk) 19:57, 14 February 2008 (UTC))Reply
Thx for your comment, but please accept that Wikipedia articles can only reflect political and historical facts, whether one likes it or not. This is especially valid for Europe, where frontiers have constantly undergone changes, and where cities or even whole regions have belonged to varying political entities in the course of their history. Please read this to understand, that Lviv's name at the time of Krochmal's birth was Lemberg, and it belonged to Galicia (Central Europe), then a province of Austria. Later its name was Lwów and it belonged to Poland, and now its name is Lviv and it belongs to Ukraine. It's not within the range of us editors to change, interpret or falsify historical realities, we simply write about them. This prevents useless conflicts, and leaves the interpretation to the reader. --Catgut (talk) 07:37, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
